Heto na. Mainit-init pa... Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 bares its first 4 Official Entries!!!
The biggest, most popular and the widely supported and anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival, now on its 48th year, is alive and upbeat as it promotes the message BALIK SAYA while foregrounding our kababayans enjoying the Filipino cinematic experience again during the Christmas Season.
The esteemed members of the Selection Committee headed by the multi-awarded and much respected leaders of the film industry Boots Anson-Roa Rodrigo and Jesse Ejercito as chair and vice chair, respectively, chose the Top 4 scripts based on the following criteria:
Artistic Excellence - 40%
Commercial Appeal - 40%
Filipino Cultural Sensibility - 10%
Global Appeal - 10%.
The first 4 MMFF 2022 official entries based script submission are
1. LABYU WITH AN ACCENT (ABS-CBN Productions, Inc)

Starring: Coco Martin & Jodi Sta. Maria
2. NANANAHIMIK ANG GABI (Rein Entertainment Productions)
Director & Writer: Shugo Praico
Starring: Ian Veneracion, Mon Confiado & Heaven Peralejo
3. PARTNERS IN CRIME (ABS-CBN Film Production Inc & Viva Films)
Director: Cathy Garcia-Molina, Writer: Enrico Santos
Starring: Vice Ganda & Ivana Alawi
4. THE TEACHER (TEN17P)
Director: Paul Soriano, Writer: Emma Villa
Starring: Joey de Leon & Toni Gonzaga
The deadline for the finished film submission (where the other 4 official MMFF entries shall be chosen) shall be on September 2 (for early birds submission) and September 30 (regular submission).

Exciting ang tambalan nina Joey de Leon at Toni Gonzaga.
Dating taga-Eat Bulaga! si Toni, di ba, at pinag-usapan ang pag-alis niya roon para lumipat sa ABS-CBN.

Ang topgrosser ng MMFF 2021 ay ang horror comedy na The ExorSIS kung saan bida ang mag-ateng Toni at Alex Gonzaga.
Kaabang-abang siyempre ang pagbabalik ni Vice Ganda sa MMFF, kung saan ilang beses nag-topgrosser ang kanyang entries.
Iyang tandem nila ni Ivana Alawi ay noong MMFF 2020 pa sana, if my memory serves me right.
Nalalapit na ang pagtatapos ng FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, kaya may sapat na panahon si Coco Martin para magbida at magdirek ng movie, at ka-partner pa niya si Jodi Sta. Maria na nagpasikat ng linyang, “Papunta pa lang tayo sa exciting part!”
Nanahimik Ang Gabi ang title ng movie nina Ian Veneracion, pero siguradong mag-iingay ang pelikula na merong mga sangkap na sex and violence. Nakaka-thrill!!!

Sana nga, maibalik ang saya sa mga sinehan.
Malalaking pelikula na ito, tampok ang mga box-office stars. Kaya kaabang-abang itong ngayong taong MMFF.
Maglalaban ngayon sina Vice Ganda at Toni Gonzaga.
Hindi kaya mahahaluan ito ng pulitika? Hindi kaya magpapasiklab muli dito ang mga Kakampinks para sumuporta kay Vice Ganda at ang UniTeam para naman kay Toni?
Inaasahang magkakaroon ng tunggalian sa social media. Pero ang isa sa naobserbahan ko, hindi lang social media ang magpapalakas ng promo ng isang pelikula.
Malaking bagay pa rin ang tradisyonal na pagpu-promote kagaya ng mall shows, radio and TV ad placements and guestings.
Sana, maging considerate naman ngayon ang mga radio and TV network sa pagbigay ng rate sa mga magpapa-ad ng kanilang pelikula. Maaaring dito pa lang tayo makabawi at mabalik ang sigla sa mga sinehan.
Sana, magbigay naman sila ng special rate sa ating mga producers para hindi naman mabigat sa kanila ang mag-advertise sa mga radio at TV programs.
