It’s more of, the impact is positive to everyone, even to GMA,” pananalig ni Basbaño.

“If there is competition, it brings out the best in us. We need this now.”

Facebook post ng CitizenWatch Philippines, “This is a milestone that will benefit Filipino viewers and hopefully elevate the quality of Philippine entertainment, public service, and general discourse.

“The fusion of ABS-CBN and TV5 is definitely good news for viewers -– this will help democratize the dissemination of well-vetted news reports to the public. This is a mandated responsibility of a TV franchise.

“CitizenWatch Philippines believes that at this crucial time in Philippine history, when disinformation, propaganda and even gossip threaten to undermine the time-honored principles of truth and accuracy in media, the synergy between ABS-CBN and TV5 will enhance the quality and scope of public service programming.

“This is critical especially during calamities, where people rely on established and free broadcast networks to deliver information to and from areas that may not be covered by the Internet.”

Pero it seems like the partnership between TV5 and ABS-CBN will just be limited to entertainment.
