Mawawala na nga ba talaga ang Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)?

Nagulat ako sa Facebook post ng kaibigan ko na dating MMK spiels director na si Leo Katigbak ngayong Nobyembre 21, 2022, Lunes ng gabi.
Sabi niya: “It has been a 31-year journey and visiting the MMK set for it's final spiels taping was sentimental and nostalgic for me.
“I still remember the days when Charo had to memorize her spiels since we didn't have teleprompters [not even the manual kind], or when I would ask for old stockings so we can use them as filters for the camera to soften the image and the colors would also affect how the image would look, or how we had to work around her schedule given the frequent interruptions because she was being called for meetings or some other urgent matter.
“Olive Lamasan created the template for the show's spiels and transitions to the filmed narrative and I was the show's spiels director for its first decade [1991-2002]. Seems fitting that we have this photo with Kevin Zarate Alambra who is the show's current and final spiels director as MAALA-ALA MO KAYA brings down the curtain and switches off the lights this December.
“I had a wonderful time chatting with Charo during make-up and on-set I also managed to introduce myself and talk with Kevin, who as it turns out, also worked with us previously in SAGIP PELIKULA as part of the translation, transcription and subtitles team. Noong nakaraang linggo pa pinag-uusapan ang pagwawakas ng MMK dahil may nakapagsabing nag-stop taping na raw sila. Matagal na rin silang nagre-replay at ilan na lang ang bagong episodes.
Ang isa pang narinig namin, may nai-tape daw silang special episode tampok ang isang malaking artista. Iyon na raw ang finale episode na mapapanood sa December.
Nakakalungkot din dahil nakaugalian na talagang, bukod sa Magpakailanman, ay marami pa ring sumusubaybay sa MMK.

Nakatatlumpo’t isang taon na ang MMK, ang tinaguriang longest-running drama anthology in the Philippines.
Nang matigil ang pag-ere ng ABS-CBN at pagkaitan ito ng bagong prangkisa, naramdaman na nating nanganganib na ang MMK na matigbak.
