“It was really special,” sambit ni Piolo sa media launch ng pelikulang Mallari nitong Hunyo 19, Lunes ng hapon, sa Novotel Hotel, Cubao, Quezon City.
“Yesterday was the last day of our run, of Ibarra. And he was there. This is his gift,” pagmumuwestra ni Papa P sa suot na kuwintas ng Infinity Zen Harmony.
“I don’t wear jewelry. I don’t even wear jewelry, he gave me an Infinity necklace, so that’s why I’m wearing it.
“And he came to the show yesterday. He stayed. So he spent Father’s Day with me, and we told each other that every Father’s Day, we have to be together.
“And I was really happy he’s back. He’s been here for a week now. So we’re doing projects together as well.
“And he’s growing to be you know, ahh… a very talented young man. He’s turning 26 already and he’s doing a lot of projects here and in the States as well.
“So I’m just happy for, you know, how he is evolving, how he is becoming independent, and a total performer actually, you know.
“He made me listen to his songs yesterday. And I said, ‘Ako na ang magpo-produce ng album mo.’
“Napakaganda ng mga songs that he composed. And I’m just really excited for what’s in store for him because he’s gonna release his album anytime soon.”

May upcoming two-night concert si Piolo sa Nobyembre sa Newport World Resorts, Pasay City. Guest ba niya roon si Inigo?
“Sa November, hindi ko pa alam kung sino ang guests. Actually tomorrow pa lang yung meeting namin with Mr. M [Johnny Manahan], he’s the one directing it,” sabi ni Piolo.
“So I’m excited. In terms of guests, hopefully pumayag yung anak ko. Pero nag-usap kami ni Kyle Echarri.
“Ang sabi niya, mag-dance showdown daw kaming tatlo. So, baka pumayag ako sa dance showdown with the two of them.”
Siyangapala, ang Mallari ang pinakamalaki at pinakamagastos na pelikula to date ng Mentorque Productions, pag-amin ng producer na si John Bryan Diamante.
Tatlo ang timelines sa kuwento nito. Ayon sa direktor ng pelikula na si Derick Cabrido ay twenty (20) shooting days ang nakalaan dito.
Aspiring entry ito sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.

Haharanahin ni Piolo ang mga kandidata sa Miss Ormoc City sa Hunyo 23, Biyernes ng gabi.
“Yes, I’ll be there. First time ko sa Ormoc din. I’m excited for the event,” sabi ni Piolo.
Magkikita sila ni Iza Calzado sa nasabing event.
Month-long ang fiesta activities ng Ormoc bilang parangal sa patron saints ng lungsod na sina Saint Peter at Saint Paul.
Bukod sina Piolo at Iza ay makikisaya roon sina Marco Sison, Rey Valera, Nonoy Zuñiga, Vice Ganda, at iba pang artists.
This is catching Piolo at a good time. Yung masaya at relaxed at fulfilled lang siya sa mga ginagawa niya. Go lang, Piolo!!!
GORGY RULA
Mahilig manood ng horror movies si Piolo, kaya excited siyang gawin itong Mallari — his very first horror film.
“I’m a fan of horror films. I love watching horror,” lahad ng 46-anyos na si Papa P.
“Since na I got stuck with mga romcoms, I had no chance to do any horror film.
“But seeing the project, reading it and finding out the truthfulness of the person, the character that I’m gonna portray, I was like… sabi ko, this is something really interesting.
“When I googled the name Mallari, and it came out as the first documented serial killer in the Philippines, sabi ko, hindi siya…
“I mean, of course, it’s a fictional film but it’s based on a true story. And sabi ko, there are a lot of films that had been coming out from different countries.
“Because of the streaming platforms, we were able to watch them. And I think we should be proud of what we can do as well.
“So sabi ko, this is gonna be really hard for me physically. Exhausting. Emotionally draining. Portraying three roles.
“But I’m up for the challenge… And I’m happy to be given this privilege to be acting for this film because it’s quite an interesting story.
“And an interesting character, too.”
