First time mapanood ni Beauty Gonzalez ang sarili sa big screen sa premiere night ng MMFF 2023 entry na Kampon noong Disyembre 18, 2023, Lunes, sa SM Megamall.
“Hindi ako nakatakas! Ha! Ha! Ha!” pagtawa ng Kapuso actress sa Q&A matapos ang screening.
“I must say it’s not only a horror film… Ayan, lumalabas na si Kampon,” ani Beauty nang magkaroon ng distracting sound sa mic.
“Wala, ayan! Loretta, bumalik ka, ha?! Huwag ka munang pumasok sa akin, tapos na tayo.”
Loretta ang pangalan ng karakter ni Zeinab Harake sa Kampon.
Si Loretta ang ina ni Jade Bitangco, ang karakter ng child actress na si Erin Espiritu. Taga-Marinduque si Loretta, at naka-one night stand nito si Col. Clark Martinez na ginampanan naman ni Derek Ramsay.
Pagpapatuloy ni Beauty, “Going back, it’s not only a horror film, but it’s an artsy film. So, nakaka-proud kasi ang ganda ng shots ni Direk King [Palisoc].
“And then ang ganda ng pagkasulat ni Direk Dodo [Dayao]. So I’m very proud of it coz not only you get scared but it’s also an artsy, and napakaganda ng pelikula talaga.
“And I’m proud to be part of it.”

Hindi nanonood before si Beauty ng pelikula niya.
“Wala akong takas, katabi ko, asawa ko, e. Sabi niya, ‘Huwag kang umalis, dito ka lang!’ Talagang hinawakan ako!” pagsisiwalat ni Beauty.
“Yeah, sabi niya, ‘You should watch yourself and you should be proud of youself.”
Ano ang naramdaman niya habang pinapanood ang sarili sa big screen?
“Oh my God, andami kong nakita na gusto kong ayusin sa totoo lang. And I guess, that’s how we grow as an artist,” lahad ni Beauty.
“We try to you know see kung ano pa ang puwedeng gawin at ayusin sa sarili natin. And I realize na this is an art film, and Art shouldn’t be understood.
“So I should let go and let you judge how the film goes coz for me, I believe it’s a beautiful film and it’s not only horror, it’s an artsy film.
“And I’m very proud na nakasali kami, part of a festival in Portugal, and hopefully more festivals to come. Coz it’s really awesome.”
R-13 ang MTRCB rating ng Kampon, kagaya ng isa pang horror sa December filmfest, iyong Mallari na bida naman si Piolo Pascual.

Bago pa ang premiere screening ng Kampon ay emotional na si Beauty Gonzalez. Maluha-luha na siya.
“I’ve always been a crybaby!” natatawang pag-amin ni Beauty.
“I’m very thankful to Atty. Joji [Alonso] for making my dreams come true. And also my manager for pushing me to do this cuz I’m really scared doing this.
“So sabi ko, ‘Sige, I’ll do it,’ and I’m very lucky na I’m blessed with a very talented co-actor.
“Derek really took good care of me. Sayang hindi ko nakaeksena sina Zeinab. Si Nico [Antonio], konti lang.
“But everybody was excellent, especially Erin, and also the director was so nice. And the script, kahit four years na na ginawa, lalong gumanda pa lalo ngayon.
“And I’m just so lucky and blessed to be here. And of course my family is here, my husband is here. My friends are here.
“It’s nice na they finally get to see what I’m doing. And nakakakilig to see myself on the big screen. And I’m just so lucky to be here…
“Andaming magandang pelikula ngayon. Andaming magandang choices pero sana, unahin nyo yung Kampon.”
Naaliw ako sa sagot ni Beauty kung mananalo siya ng Best Actress award. As in hindi raw niya talaga inaasahan. As in!
Pero to the effect na iti-treat daw niya ang lahat!!!

GORGY RULA
Sabi-sabi, bagay na bagay ang mukha ni Beauty Gonzalez sa horror movies.
Idineklara ni Nathalie Tomada ng The Philippine Star na si Beauty na ang "Horror Queen" ng local showbiz.
“Thank you. Thank you so much. Pero I don’t know what to say,” sambit ni Beauty.
“It’s hard to, like, I would love to have that, but I have to prove myself pa more, and it’s nice to be called one.
“And horror is really hard to do. Kasi… I mean pag drama kasi, pag TV, alam mo na what were you going to do, or where you’re coming from.
“But when you’re doing a movie and you only have one take, and you’re doing horror pa, you have to be imaginative and kailangan out of the box ka talaga.
“And all your insecurities and yung mga ano mo sa sarili mo, you should get rid of it. Kasi you have to have a very sincere and honest reaction to it.
“So, as you can see, yung acting ko dito is very slow. Because I really wanna differentiate if from what I’m doing in TV, and from what I’m doing in different films.
“So kaya medyo you know slow burning and yes, horror is really hard for me. And I love doing it coz, you know, I wanna push myself.”
Mapapaisip ang manonood sa ending ng Kampon, kung ano ba ang kinahinatnan ng karakter ni Beauty na si Eileen.
“I love the ending. I love the ending because you keep guessing it, na nadala ba si Eileen kay Loretta?” saad ni Beauty.
“Is Loretta Eileen? Is Eileen Loretta? That’s what I’m wishing na makuha ng mga tao. Kanina, I was, like… ‘Oh my God! Sana makuha nila yung dulo na is it Loretta, or is it me?’
“And haaayy, thank you!”
