Satisfied si Derek Ramsay sa comeback movie niyang Kampon, kung saan co-stars niya sina Beauty Gonzalez, Zeinab Harake, at Erin Espiritu.
"Gusto kong i-congratulate yung buong team," sambit ni Derek matapos ang premiere screening ng Kampon noong Disyembre 18, 2023, Lunes sa SM Megamall.
"Everybody performed, everybody delivered. Everybody did their job exceptionally.
"Yung daddy ko, nakita ko, pinapanood ko, akala ko di niya naiintindihan pero napapatalon kaya OK.
"Ganun ang gauge ko kung OK ba yung movie. Yeah, I saw the reactions of many here, nagugulat.
"Erin was great. Beauty, best actress, kaya. Zeinab, it’s the start of something big for you.
"Everybody did a great job. Direk. Everyone, congratulations!"
Ang horror movie na Kampon ay isa sa sampung official entries ng 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) na mapapanood sa mga sinehan umpisa Disyembre 25, Lunes.
Nagpasalamat si Derek sa producer na si Atty. Joji Alonso, CEO ng film company na Quantum Films.
Ani Derek, “Thank you for getting me off my ass to come and do another movie.
"I really enjoyed it. It’s been a while. So thank you again."
Ang Kampon ay idinirek ni King Palisoc, mula sa panulat ni Dodo Dayao. Nasa cast din nito sina Nico Antonio, Nor Domingo, Lui Manansala, Cai Cortez, Al Tantay, at Kean Cipriano.

Hindi makalimutan ni Derek Ramsay iyong aksidente sa eksena nila nina Nico Antonio at Nor Domingo sa Kampon.
Pag-amin ni Derek, "I feel bad until now. Nasiko ko si Nor nang solid, like, blackout siya, nawala pa yung ngipin.
"Kaya ngayon tinatanong ko, kumusta yung ngipin niya. Gumalaw yung ngipin niya, blackout siya.
"Buti na lang nasalo ko yung ulo niya. Kasi laglag sa semento, e. It was the scene na binubugbog ko si Nico.
"Pag-awat niya sa akin, like when I hit him, alam ko na talagang tulog. Parang, ikot lang ako, tapos salo. Yeah.
"And then, ang masakit dun, yes, di OK na, bumalik na sa real world si Nor. Nabuhay, binuhay.
"Sabi ko, 'Anyway, Nor, at least ang ganda ng kuha! Sobrang totoo, di ba?!’
"Labas si Direk, 'Ah, rehearsal lang yun.' 'Seryoso?' 'Hindi nakunan.' Oh no!!!
"Pero hindi siya nag-ano. Tinuloy pa rin niya. Hindi siya nagpa-pack up. He pushed through. He was a warrior."
Habang piling-pili ni Derek ang mga projects na ginagawa niya, mabuti talaga at ginawa niya itong Kampon. Ninang Atty Joji knows best naman talaga! All the best!!!

GORGY RULA:
Matagal-tagal na naging inactive sa pag-aartista si Derek Ramsay. Aniya, medyo nangapa siya sa pag-arte muli.
Pero galing niya sa maraming eksena ng Kampon. Bakas na bakas sa kanyang mga mata ang iba’t ibang emosyon ng karakter niyang si Clark. Ginalingan talaga!
"Parang ang hirap maging Clark, no? Ang sama ng buhay niya, ang gulo!" bulalas ni Derek.
"Andami niyang isyu… First off, this is unknown territory for me. Because it’s horror and I’ve never really done it.
"Sabi nga ng mom ko, 'Kakaiba yung ginawa mo, anak.' So, it’s nice to hear that from your mom. It’s nice to hear that from you.
"It’s been awhile, I just didn’t know how to gauge my acting, but like I said in the beginning, mahirap nga sa akin.
"Kasi, I don’t know if I was performing. But thanks to my director...
"Sabi ko nga, it’s not like riding a bicycle. It’s something that you know. I thought, 'sige, balik,' but I was really nervous. I didn’t know, yun nga, what my performance was.
"But when my director kept on coming out, kita mong excited siya sa eksena, sa nangyari, 'Tumatayo ang balahibo ko, Derek.'
"Sabi ko, it’s nice to know that the captain of the ship is proud of your work. And it’s very easy to get back riding the bike when you have brilliant co-actors who helped in the scene.
"Hindi kami nagpapagalingan dito. Binubuhay talaga namin yung mga eksena by feeding off each other’s energy, and each other’s talent.
"So I’m very proud of this film. Excited, and I have very high expectations for it."
Nakaka-miss mapanood sa big screen si Derek. Ang guwapu-guwapo niya sa close-ups!
He’s really meant for the big screen, ikanga.
"Nagte-thank you talaga ako, yung buhay ko, hindi kagaya ng kay Clark," napangiting sambit ni Derek.
