Pero kung kalidad ng bawat pelikula ang susuriin, hindi iyan basta-basta mapagkakasunduan kahit magpasya na ang mga hurado.
MMFF 2025 BEST ACTRESS: PERSONAL BETS
Ang personal choice ko na best picture ay ang Unmarry, na idinirek ni Jeffrey Jeturian.
Pero OK lang sa akin kung kabugin ito ng I’mPerfect ni Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, Manila’s Finest ni Raymond Red, at/o Bar Boys: After School ni Kip Oebanda.
Dark horse ang Call Me Mother ni Jun Robles Lana.
Ang personal choice ko na Best Actress ay si Angelica Panganiban para sa Unmarry. Ramdam ko ang nuances ng kanyang pagganap. Sabi-sabi, mahigpit na kalaban niya si Krystel Go ng I’mPerfect.
If ever, pagkalooban kaya ng Jury Prize si Krystel at ang leading man niyang si Earl Amaba?
Dark horses sa pagka-Best Actress sina Nadine Lustre ng Call Me Mother, Carla Abellana ng Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, Bianca de Vera ng Love You So Bad, at Carmina Villaroel ng Rekonek.
Pang-Best Actress ba o Best Supporting Actress si Odette Khan ng Bar Boys: After School? Pakiwari ko ay llamado si Odette kung sa supporting category siya ilagay. Siya ang personal choice kong best supporting actress.
Pakiramdam ko rin ay mahigpit niyang katunggali sa kategoryang ito sina Ashtine Olviga ng Manila’s Finest at Eugene Domingo ng Unmarry.

Para sa Best Actor, gusto ko si Piolo Pascual ng Manila’s Finest. Naba-vibes ko na mahigpit niyang kalaban si Zanjoe Marudo ng Unmarry.
Dark horses sina Carlo Aquino ng Bar Boys: After School at Vice Ganda ng Call Me Mother.
Puwede ring lumaban na Best Actor si Will Ashley para sa Bar Boys: After School, pero mas may chance siya kung nasa Best Supporting Actor category.
Ang iba pang Best Supporting Actor para sa akin ay sina Tom Rodriguez ng Unmarry, Tonton Gutierrez at Joey Marquez ng I’mPerfect, Cedrick Juan at Soliman Cruz ng Manila’s Finest, at John “Sweet” Lapus ng Call Me Mother.
Ang MMFF 2025 Gabi ng Parangal ay ngayong Disyembre 27, Sabado, sa Dusit Thani Hotel sa Makati City.
Performers dito sina Jona, Angela Muji & Rabin Angeles, at Sofronio Vasquez.

Marami talaga ang umaayon na si Angelica Panganiban ang magwawaging Best Actress para sa Unmarry.
Pero may nagsasabing meron ding laban si Krystel Go ng I’mPerfect.
Sa tingin ko, silang dalawa lang talaga ang maglalaban sa kategoryang ito.
Pero agree ako doon kung bibigyan ng special jury prize sina Krystel at Earl Amaba, at kay Angelica na ibigay ang Best Actress trophy.
GABI NG PARANGAL'S MOST ANTICIPATED AWARD
Pagdating sa Best Actor, sapat na talaga para sa akin si Zanjoe Marudo.
May laban din si Piolo Pascual, dahil sa totoo lang, mas gusto ko ang acting niya rito sa Manila’s Finest kesa sa nakaraan niyang MMFF entries na Mallari at The Kingdom.
Pero hindi rin natin sure sa mga hurado, at baka mas nadala sila sa ginawa ni Vice Ganda sa Call Me Mother. Kaya isa ito sa kaabang-abang na kategorya sa Gabi ng Parangal mamaya.
Sa supporting actors at actress naman ay mukhang mahirap talunin si Eugene Domingo ng Unmarry.
Kung sa Best Supporting Actor category ilalagay si Will Ashley, siya siguro ang iboboto. Parang si Ruru Madrid ng Green Bones na pambida ang role, pero inilagay siya sa Best Supporting Actor para hindi na niya makalaban si Dennis Trillo.
Kaya silang dalawa ang wagi! Puwedeng mangyari ito kay Will ngayong gabi.
Para sa Best Picture, baka mahirapan ako sa pagpili kung ang Unmarry o I’mPerfect ang gagawaran nito. Kaya abangan natin kung anu-ano ang magiging pasya ng jury na tila mahaba-haba pa ang kanilang deliberation.

WHO IS DOY DEL MUNDO JR.?
It is really anybody’s ballgame mamayang gabi.
Habang tinitipa natin ito ay nagde-deliberate pa lang ang MMFF 2025 jury headed by the much respected Sir Doy del Mundo.
Hindi matatawaran ang credentials ni Sir Clodualdo “Doy” del Mundo Jr. Sino nga ba si Sir?
He is a highly acclaimed Filipino screenwriter, director, and author, born on March 11, 1948.
He’s a respected figure in the Filipino film industry, known for his outstanding work in the 1970s and 1980s.
Sir Doy’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ateneo de Manila University, a Master of Arts in radio-television-film from the University of Kansas, and a doctoral degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa.
As the Jury Chair of the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this 2025, Sir Doy brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. He’s headed the communication arts department of De La Salle University and was a founding member and former chairman of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino, and vice-president of the Screenwriters Guild of the Philippines.
Some notable works include directing documentary films like People Media (1978) and Lupa (1982), and writing Writing for Film (1983) and Philippine Mass Media: A Book of Readings (1986).
He’s received numerous awards, including a FAMAS Award for Best Screenplay for Maynila Sa Kuko Ng Liwanag (1976) and a Gawad Urian and Film Academy Award for Best Screenplay for Batch ‘81 (1983).
He also won the Best Film Award for Pepot Artista in the First Cinemalaya International Independent Film Festival.
Sir Doy’s legacy continues to inspire, and his contributions to Philippine cinema are undeniable.
