Rachel Carrasco was thrust into the spotlight through her association with real-estate magnate Victor Consunji.

As she turns a year older today—September 17, 2025—she receives a touching message from Victor, who describes her as "unconditionally loving… yet strong-minded and firm."

Perception of Rachel has largely been shaped by what people have seen or read—particularly on social media, where marital issues often become fodder for public consumption, whether driven by genuine concern or mere gossip.

She was drawn into the separation involving Victor and his estranged wife, former beauty queen Maggie Wilson, in August 2022.

Three months later, Rachel and Victor began appearing on each other’s social media feeds.

In November 2024, Rachel opened up about her personal life during the Rising Tigers Charity Ball held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City, where she was honored as one of the recipients of the Women of Purpose and Power award.

In the interview, Rachel—who resides in Singapore while Victor is based in the Philippines—shared how she has come to terms with being questioned about her life with Victor, including the controversies surrounding his past relationship.

"I am at a stage na expected na, it comes with the territory, and choices we made," Rachel mentioned.

"I made a choice to step into this life and stepping to this world and, ika nga nila, you can never have the good without the bad."

But she is far more than just the partner of business magnate Victor Consunji. She is a successful entrepreneur and a dedicated career woman in her own right.

RACHEL CARRASCO: BASIC INFORMATION

According to her LinkedIn profile, Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Production Design from De La Salle University, where she studied from 2004 to 2008.

In 2016, she completed a program called the "Mini MBA," which she described as "an 18-credit online course taught and designed by Prof. Mark Ritson, BSc, PhD (from Lancaster University—the UK’s oldest and most venerated marketing department)."

That same year, she also studied Luxury Brand Management and Product Design at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.

In 2018, she attended New York University, enrolling in its Digital Marketing Intensive Program.

As for her family background, no information is publicly available online.

However, in an article published by Rolling Stone Philippines in March 2025, she shared:

“I grew up in a blended family. It was the same for both my parents and their parents. I have experienced first-hand the ups and downs of this unique family dynamic. This is why, perhaps, my understanding and acceptance goes deeper.

"My personal experience has given me insights and the ability to make it work for my family. However, as a full unit (all parents involved) need to act—not talk nor post — in harmony. Placing the kids’ best interests before their own.”

ALWAYS CARRYING A NOTEBOOK

In her first job, Rachel worked as a marketing and production assistant at an events agency owned by a friend.

In a February 2023 article published by Tatler Asia, she shared a valuable lesson she learned as a newcomer: always carry a notebook.

She recalled that on her first day, she attended a meeting, and, afterwards, her boss asked if she had taken notes on the discussion.

Confidently, Rachel replied: “Yes, I remember everything.”

But when her boss asked her to recap, she struggled to recall the details.

Her boss then advised, “You should always have a notebook with you.”

That nugget of wisdom stayed with her, and since that day, Rachel has never gone out without a pen and notebook in her bag.

WORKING WITH INTERNATIONAL BRANDS

Rachel, who moved to Singapore in 2012, worked her way up in the corporate world.

Some of the roles she assumed include regional senior brand manager at Kimberly-Clark, brand manager for LVMH's champagne brand Dom Pérignon, and business manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Rachel explained that her decision to relocate to Singapore was driven by a sense that, while Manila's business scene is dynamic and competitive, it doesn't provide sufficient opportunities for individuals and companies—both large and small—to gain regional and global exposure.

STARTING HER OWN BUSINESS

Rachel’s extensive experience in marketing and working with diverse brands led her to establish her own marketing agency, followed by a consultancy firm she named RACHE.

In an interview with The Sybarite, she admitted that she felt scared and uncertain about venturing out on her own without the security of a regular job.

“But I had the fight in me!” she told the lifestyle magazine.

Rachel described RACHE as an experiential company that empowers brands to tell their stories, helping them connect with their target audiences and inspire them in meaningful ways.

She hopes to turn RACHE into a group of companies with stakes in different industries including food and beverage.

FOR THE LOVE OF BACON

In 2018, Rachel, along with Kelly Parreño, founded Baken, a snack brand offering a variety of products made from bacon.

Baken is available in the Philippines, Singapore, and Australia.

In talking about Baken's origin, Rachel told The Sybarite: “I got the idea in Cape Town, where I walked into an all-bacon restaurant, and they had this deli which sold all these wonderful bacon products. I am a massive bacon fan, I grew up with it and I am obsessed.”

BRINGING A LIQUOR BRAND TO THE COUNTRY

Aside from bacon, Rachel also enjoys indulging in a good drink from time to time.

This is why she, Baken co-founder Kelly, and dentist Miguel Librojo brought the ready-to-drink cocktail brand Rio Strong to the Philippines.

Rio, an existing alcopop beverage brand from China, took shape during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Ironically, as I was going through some shifts that year, that also put me in a good position to take risks.

"I'd like to think that while the pandemic brought along a couple of speed bumps and even setbacks on some days, it too gave us the gift of time,” Rachel told Yahoo! News.

“Time to reassess our position and improve on our playbooks, our products, and our people and time to capitalize on an audience that was tuned in almost 24/7."

“I did loads of therapy. Even before, when I got a divorce in the middle of the pandemic. It was a choice I made with my ex-husband,” Rachel shared in an interview in October.

She added that they remain "on very good terms" and even exchange photos of their children.

ROMANCE WITH VICTOR CONSUNJI

In August 2022, Maggie publicly accused Victor Consunji, with whom she shares a son named Connor, of having an affair with another woman during their marriage.
