First time na pagtatambal ito ng Kapuso actor na si Alden at Kapamilya actress na si Julia.

Pahayag ni Julia sa mediacon nitong Abril 18, 2023, Martes, sa B Hotel, Sct. Rallos St., Quezon City, “Nung nalaman ko po, siyempre ahhmm nagulat ako. Hindi na ako magkukunwari.
“Nagulat talaga ako with Alden. Sabi ko, ‘Seriously, ako po? Talaga ba, ako?’ And then siyempre honored, and happy ako to work with him.
“Ahhmm hindi pa kami masyadong matagal nagsu-shoot pero na-appreciate ko. That’s why Alden Richards is Alden Richards, alam ko na kung bakit.”
Sabi naman ni Alden, “Ahhmm ako naman, it’s been a while since last film ko. That was 2019. And nung nilatag pa lang sa akin ito…
“First nagkaroon ako ng meeting with Direk and the other producers, ahhmm na-excite ako with the idea of being paired with Julia.
“Kasi I know how brilliant of an actress she is.
“And kumbaga, parang si Juls yung isa sa mga leading ladies — ayaw nga namin ng ganung title — pero parang mga naka-partner ko so far, by far na unang meeting pa lang, as in wala na kaming… wala nang pretensions.
“Naramdaman ko yung sincerity immediately. So hindi rin ako natakot to give my all in this film.
“Kasi siguro napakaimportante nung kung paano ipinapakilala ng bawat isa yung individuality nila bago kami mag-start.”
Nakatrabaho ni Alden si Direk Irene noong assistant director ang huli sa isang teleserye niya sa GMA Network.
Dagdag ng Asia’s Multimedia Star habang nakatingin kay Julia, “Nakakadalawang shooting days pa lang kami pero I think this is a start of a really good friendship, and a really good working relationship with her. Sana hindi ito yung huli.”
Ang huling pelikulang ginawa ni Alden ay ang Hello, Love, Goodbye katambal si Kathryn Bernardo, na idinirek ni Cathy Garcia Molina, at iprinodyus ng ABS-CBN Film Productions.
Iyon ang pinakamalakas na pelikulang Pilipino sa kasaysayan (hindi adjusted sa inflation).
JULIA MONTES AND ALDEN richards
Nailang o nanibago ba sila sa pakikipagtrabaho sa isa’t isa?
Tugon ni Julia, “Ako for me, big thing kasi sa akin yung co-actor na kailangan komportable ako. Kasi hindi mo madadaya yung connection.
“I mean yung characters naman po, sometimes hindi talaga kami yun. Malayo sa real personality namin. Pero yung connection, yun yung kailangan mo talagang i-build prior.
“But in the Philippines, wala naman tayong luxury ng time to have that yung bonding prior to shoots. So yung sa amin, yun talaga.
“Nung first pa lang, komportable na kami. Yung parang… ako as hindi nga Julia, e, yung Mara, yung real na ako… wala! Pinakita ko lang. I mean, kuwentuhan.
“Tapos komportable lang. Yun ang na-appreciate ko, and nakita ko talaga siya kung papaano siya in real life.
“Yun ang na-appreciate ko. And hindi naman lahat ng tao kasi, nakikita yung real side ng tao. And nakita ko yun kay Alden.”
Sambot ni Alden, “Ang maganda rin kay Juls, before we started… one time, big time, di ba, Direk, nagkaroon tayo ng script-readind and exercises, et cetera.
“Actually hindi nga, it’s… not more of the movie, but more of our personal relationship together. Which is maganda rin.
“Kasi ahh sa history ko, sa tagal ko sa showbiz, ganun kasi, e. Parang may common routine na tayo when we do our projects.
“Andiyan yung storycon tapos may workshop kayo. But ang maganda kasi sa nangyari sa amin, and I think it’s a very good thing, na hopefully maganda rin siyang simulan with future projects ng ibang mga producers and mga actors.
“Before anything else, we should work on the relationship of the co-stars more than anything else.
“Because that’s the foundation of the whole project. Kumbaga, dun nag-i-start yun, e.
“Kasi, di ba, pag storycon, siyempre you just hear about the project. It’s relevant also, but what I’m really trying to say is… yung relationship ng mga tao na magtatrabaho with that project, yun kasi ang magma-manifest on screen.
“So that will really speak a lot of the project. So, si Juls kasi, in-orient na niya ako. Which is na-appreciate ko.
“Kasi minsan, di ba, ang hirap nung nangangapa ka? And especially it’s our first time together, ahh isa sa mga na-appreciate ko kay Julia yung tapang.
“She’s a really brave woman. And parang ahhh… ‘This is me. So will you accept me, will you not accept me?’
“And parang she’s very genuine in a way na binigyan din niya ako ng comfort in that way. So ganun siyang klaseng tao.”
FIVE BREAK-UPS AND A ROMANCE
Tungkol sa complications ng isang relasyon ang Five Break-ups And A Romance — kung gaano kahirap at kasarap ang relasyon. Saksak-puso, tulo ang dugo! Pero magpapangiti pa rin!
Lahad ni Alden, “I’ll be playing Lance Sandoval here, so ahhmm what I really like about my character is ahhh yun nga, kagaya ng sinasabi ni Direk na we’re used to love stories na very narrative, parang kuwento siya towards na alam mo ang ending.
“Pero ito kasi, it’s more of the reality of a relationship. Kasi in a relationship naman, di ba, minsan from petty to hardcore fights.
“Hindi mo naman dini-divulge in public, e. So ito, bibigyan naming buhay yung complications ng relationships in terms of breakups, arguments, misunderstandings et cetera.
“So what we want the audience to see, especially who are in a relationship, and who were in a relationship na, ‘Ay! Nangyari sa amin ‘to.’ ‘Ay! Ako ‘to ngayon.’
“So hopefully with this movie, with characters ahh yun nga, parang gusto namin after sa sinehan, baka may mga exes na magkabalikan.
“Or may mga magkarelasyong magkaaway at that moment na ma-realize nila na, ‘Text ko nga yung partner ko para ayusin namin ‘to. Kasi…’
“Because at the end of the day, ahh it’s always about love, di ba? Love is a very complicated thing.
“Sometimes hindi mo na alam if you’re fighting for the right reasons, the right people. But you know, it’s love, e. Yun nga.
“So with the character that I have now, ahh ito yung isa sa mga karakter ko na very loose. Si Direk Irene let me, ‘Gawin mo lang yung gusto mong gawin.’ Which I appreciate.
“Because, di ba, sometimes, may mga nakakatrabaho tayo na they tell us every single thing na dapat mong gawin when the cameras roll.
“Pero si Direk, papagawa niya how you understood it, and then magre-refine lang kami. Ie-enhance lang namin kung ano yung mga puwed pang i-work on, ma-push forward.
“So mas loose ito, mas relaxed yung character. Pero mas walang hiya.”
F-love ang malalasap sa Five Break-ups And A Romance.
Napangiting salaysay ni Julia, “Ako po dito si Justine, a goal-driven career woman. Ahhmm siyempre sa ating mga babae, madalas tayong tinatawag na ‘martir.’
“So in this film, how can you balance career and love? So with love, di ba, we don’t know when to stop. How.
“Walang guidelines. Walang mga manual. So, kailan mo ba malalaman kung tama pa ba ang tama, o mali na ba ang mali? So, ayun.”
