The Vice Ganda-Coco Martin starrer Beauty and the Bestie has already earned P472.7 million in the box-office.
This action-comedy movie, produced by Star Cinema and VIVA Films, is one of the eight official entries of the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival.
The box-office figure was revealed by Star Cinema AdProm director Roxy Liquigan through his Twitter account.
His tweet included the hashtag #ALLTIMETOPGROSSER.
He posted earlier today, "P472.7 Million for #BeautyAndTheBestie! CONGRATULATIONS!!! #ALLTIMETOPGROSSER."
He also said that the movie, which features the Jadine love team of James Reid and Nadine Lustre, is now the highest grossing movie in the history of the film festival.
According to his post, "BeautyAndTheBestie IS NOW the HIGHEST GROSSING MOVIE in the history of the MMFF!!!"
This was followed by another tweet that indicated, "TOP-GROSSER OF ALL TIME! # Fact #AllTimeNumberOne #itagaSaBatoATitagaNaRinSaBakaL #GoodKarma #GustoNiLord."
My Bebe Love lead star Ai-Ai delas Alas recently refuted Star Cinema's claim that their MMFF 2015 entry is the number one movie in the box-office.
Ai-Ai said that her movie with Vic Sotto, Maine Mendoza, and Alden Richards is the top-grosser in the festival.
Yesterday, January 10, Star Cinema AdProm Manager Mico del Rosario shared his insights in order to address the controversy.
In the 40th edition of MMFF last year, Vice Ganda's film entry The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin 2 also topped the box-office returns of the film fest when it earned P440 million in a span of two weeks.
