On Monday, July 25, 2022, Liza Soberano marked her first TV appearance in South Korea.
Liza had a surprise guest appearance in Not Hocance But Scance (English title: Not Hotelcation but Staycation), a reality and variety show produced by Box Media and hosted by K-drama actress Ye Ji Won and SISTAR member Soyou.
The two hosts were joined by former Kara members Nicole Jung and Kang Ji Young, who were also guest celebrities of the episode.
In a post on her Instagram Stories, Liza shared screenshots of her South Korean TV appearance and wrote, "Had my first ever [Korean] show guesting tonight on MBN’s Not Hocance But Scance."
Liza also thanked the show's hosts for making her feel comfortable.
She added, "Thank you to the hosts and guests of the show for making the experience fun and comfortable!"

In the show, Ji Won, Soyou, Nicole, and Ji Young were preparing to have a Korean barbecue dinner when Liza walked in to say hello.
The four K-celebs then invited Liza to sit and join them for dinner.
Nicole, who served as her translator, asked if she was in South Korea for vacation.
To which Liza replied, “[I am here] for a kind of vacation, kind of work. I’m just exploring Seoul. And I’m a huge fan of K-pop and K-drama so I want to, like, find work here."
Liza was also asked if she watches their reality show.
The Kapamilya actress said yes and added, "I always look up random variety shows, random Korean variety shows to understand the culture, so yeah I watched."
At one point, Liza revealed to Soyou that she's a big fan of her group and their songs, including the song "Touch My Body."
Asked what she loves about K-pop and K-drama, Liza answered, "I liked it since I was 11. It started with K-pop... and then I started watching dramas like Boys Over Flowers."
Meanwhile, Ji Won and Soyou mentioned that Liza looks so much like English actress Olivia Hussey, who portrayed Juliet in the 1968 movie Romeo and Juliet.
Ji Young also told the 24-year-old Kapamilya actress "neomu yeppeuda," which translates to "you're pretty" in English.
Liza has been busy pursuing an international career since she transferred to James Reid's talent-management company.
