Chie Filomeno has set a standard for government-issued IDs after trending multiple times for her make-up masterstroke.
Widely perceived as a make-up maven, Chie tells PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) it has taken her years of trial and error to perfect her beauty techniques.

EXPERIMENTING WITH NEW PRODUCTS
Representing the local brand BLK at Watsons Beauty Con on March 20, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center, Chie underscores the importance of responsible product experimentation in make-up.
She says of her make-up evolution: "It's a trial and error up to an extent though, because it's your face.
"But for me, I go towards sa products na not scented. That's just me kasi me, I believe that if it's too perfume-y like, parang harsh siya sa skin."
Aside from figuring out her skin sensitivity through the years, Chie has also considered the suitability of certain cosmetic styles to different environments.
"Well, ang naiisip ko sa make-up before, especially dati, mas ano tayo sa pag-make-up, kailangan plakado, kailangan makapal," she recalls.
"Pero no, it's not. Especially here in the Philippines, because it really depends kung saan ka nag-i-stay din.
"Here in the Philippines, more on light [make-up] tayo kasi di ba ang bilis natin ma-oily, ang bilis natin, kasi pollution and also the weather."

Accentuating features
Chie also discusses studying one's face intently to capture optimal results.
"We have to adapt to everything that we have right now," the Can't Buy Me Love actress and former Girltrends member relates.
"And with beauty naman, siguro ang takeaway ko lang is you have to enhance what you have, yun lang."
At the same time, she reminds make-up enthusiasts not to be afraid to "try everything."
She explains: "Kasi, in order for you to get what you want, you have to try it. So, try yung mga techniques, kung ano magwu-work best for you.
"Kasi, minsan, like me dati, when I was younger, kasi I had puffy cheeks when I was younger.
"So, medyo hindi maganda na dito ko nilalagay kasi it gets bigger," she motions towards the apples of her cheeks.
"So, ako, natutunan ko na it's better to put it here, my high point," Chie continues, pointing at her cheekbones.
Her final tip is to go with "whatever you're comfortable with. Go with it if it makes you happy.
"Kung ano yung magpapasaya sa iyo, yun talaga e."

CHIE'S BEAUTY GOALS
It's interesting to observe the depth of Chie's beauty aspirations with her saying, "My beauty goals to feed my mind and my soul, my heart with good stuff and positivity.
"Kasi, lahat naman ang fini-feed natin sa utak natin, lahat ng kung anong binabasa natin, nag-aano yan e, lumalabas yan e.
"So, you just have to watch what you eat, watch what you say to yourself also.
"More on the inside kesa outer beauty. More on the inside kasi talagang mag-g-glow ka."
