Chie Filomeno has gotten used to judgmental comments about her decision to undergo cosmetic enhancements.
Most recently, the 26-year-old actress confronted a detractor who considered any cosmetic enhancement "a crime."
Talking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on May 10, 2023, at an exclusive party in SM Makati celebrating the collaboration of H&M and Mugler stores, Chie expressed her weariness over some people's negative attitude towards plastic surgery.
She said, "Nakakapagod kasi bakit sa Pilipinas ganito? Pero sa ibang bansa, they're very open about it. At wala sila na pakialam kasi it's a part of the industry also."
In defiance, Chie declared she could have a nose job even if it weren't medically necessary because she wanted it.
"I'm not saying it's the right thing to do. Pero kasi kung yun yung mag-i-enhance ng confidence mo and magiging masaya ka, why not?
"Kasi lahat naman iba-iba yung kuwento. Mine is different. The reason why I got my nose done was different. Different story siya.
"Pero siguro kung if ever man ganun pa rin yung nose ko before, I'd still do it kahit walang nangyari noong pinanganak ko."
Back in 2019, Chie made a significant revelation regarding her choice to undergo a nose job.
Chie revealed that the doctor attending to her mother during a C-section accidentally cut Chie's nose while she was still in the womb.
Chie was able to fix the bridge of her nose when she was already 14 years old.
On the other hand, Chie also acknowdged that as many people with open minds have nothing against plastic surgery.
The Star Magic talent said, "Mixed [reactions] talaga siya, e. But I'm just happy na ang dami ko naikita ngayon na mas open about plastic surgery.
"And kung ano man yung decision mo nga sa iyong katawan, hayaan mo sila."
Speaking with conviction, Chie expressed, "As long as you're happy at wala ka ba tinatapakan na tao, you do you. And hayaan mo sila.
"Like, f* them! Like, don't let them judge you!"
