It's Okay Not to Be Okay actor Kim Soo Hyun is in town to hold his first-ever fan meeting, an event organized by the brand he endorses, Bench.
Dubbed One Extraordinary Day with Kim Soo Hyun, it opened at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
At the press conference held on Thursday, June 9, the 34-year-old South Korean superstar was asked about the Filipino food he has tried so far.
He answered, "Of course, when we talk about Filipino food, the things I can think of are the fruits.
"And yesterday, I tried, of course, the Jollibee. The burger, pasta, chicken, the set, Super Meal. I've tried that."
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) also asked Soo Hyun about his first visit to the country. During his 2017 visit to the country, Soo Hyun revealed that he has already been to the Philippines for a short vacation.
He said, "I remember another dish," recalling his first taste of chicharon and the sight of the once vibrant seaside promenade at the Manila Baywalk.
"On the way from the airport, to a town called Malate, there’s a body of water and there are these food stalls with lightbulbs and there’s pork skin… chicharon and I had it for the first time.
"I also talked about Cebu earlier and the swimming and, of course, the chicharon."
Asked what other things he would love to do in the Philippines aside from the fan-meet, Soo Hyun mentioned he wanted to go back to Cebu and Boracay for vacation and try some "ihaw-ihaw."
He said, "I came to Cebu and Boracay for swimming. Of course, I like to see it every time, you know, the Philippines is known for its beautiful beaches and I would like to go.
"I would also like to try food, you know, something that's grilled."
