Kyline Alcantara is calling on women to take immediate action when it comes to health-related issues.
Through an Instagram Reel on March 1, 2023, the Kapuso actress opened a much-needed conversation covering women's reproductive health.
In the video, Kyline could be seen getting a shot of the vaccine administered by her Obstetrics and Gynecology doctor.
She explained why she began to take cervical cancer vaccines in the caption: "Got my last dose of vaccine for cervical cancer prevention.
"I started doing this when I was diagnosed with PCOS.
"My OB told me that this is really important especially for all of the women out there.
"This is our first step to prevent cervical cancer."
PCOS, according to hopkinsmedicine.org, is a condition where women may not ovulate, have high levels of androgens, and have many small cysts on the ovaries."
It can also cause missed or irregular menstrual periods, excess hair growth, acne, infertility, and weight gain.

Kyline also gave a timely reminder for her fellow women to mind their health first.
The Zero Kilometers Away actress wrote, "March is National Women’s Month and aside from celebrating the strength of women, I would like to encourage every women to get the vaccination."
She went on to say that getting vaccinated is "for us [women] to prevent and protect ourselves from cancers that can affect our lives as women.
"Let’s do this not just for ourselves but for our loved ones as well."
COMMENTS
Kyline's message was well-received by her followers, who began to actively engage with one another, asking questions that ranged from diagnosis to where they can get vaccinated.
One question Kyline answered was about the price of her cervical cancer vaccine, which is "10 thousand plus."

Other netizens responded to comments asking where to get their doses, citing the city health centers in barangays as one place to get vaccinated against cervical cancer.

A few of them expressed regret for not having taken the vaccine earlier.

The rest simply thanked the young star for spreading word about this important topic.

Kyline is a 20-year-old actress who entered showbiz in 2010 as a contestant of Star Circle Quest: Search for the Next Kiddie Superstars.
She moved to GMA-7 in late 2017, and has since starred in seven television series to date.
