Sam Milby is stepping into a new chapter of his health journey.
On June 19, 2025, the actor took to Instagram to share to his followers that he has begun stem cell therapy in an effort to manage, and possibly reverse, his Type 2 diabetes.
“First time to try stem cell therapy to help improve my type 2 diabetes,” he wrote.
“Excited to share with you guys my journey. Thanks Villa Medica!”
The following day, wellness center Villa Medica Philippines posted a video showing Sam’s first session as part of their exclusive Reverse Diabetes Program.
The caption reads: “Actor Sam Milby chooses Stem Cell Therapy at VILLA MEDICA Philippines to reverse his diabetes — safely and scientifically.”

According to the clinic, Sam’s treatment plan includes Pancreas-Specific Stem Cell Therapy using high-potency vials sourced from Germany.
The therapy aims to regenerate damaged pancreatic cells, restore insulin production, and reignite the body’s natural ability to regulate blood sugar levels.
Also included in the program are: Pancreatic peptides and growth factors, placenta therapy, colon detox and hyperbaric oxygen sessions, personalized nutrition and supplementation.
Each patient undergoes a full medical consultation to assess health status and customize the plan accordingly.
In the video, Sam opens up about his current health state: “I’m going to, for my first time, do the stem cell for the reverse diabetes program.
“I’ve been diagnosed for two years now, and sadly this year has been a bit rough for me. Parang lumalala habang tumatagal.
“So, I’m so thankful for Villa Medica for partnering with me on this. I’m excited to share with you guys my results after a few months.”
A doctor in the clip further explains, “We’re going to give you stem cells so that we can repair your body caused by the diabetes that you have.
“Also, we’re going to give you some growth factors for your pancreas so that it can efficiently produce insulin for you.”
Scenes from the video showed Sam undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy, colon hydrotherapy, and nutritional counseling, offering a glimpse of the comprehensive nature of the treatment.

A year since Sam revealed his diagnosis
It was in June 2024 when Sam publicly revealed that he had been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).
In his Instagram post, he shared his shock given his lifestyle and family history.
“I don’t have a sweet tooth, bihira din mag junk food, pero last year I found out na may type 2 diabetes na ako.”
Despite not having any genetic predisposition, Sam emphasized the importance of early detection.
“My parents and grandparents never had it. I just wish I got checked up earlier nung pre-diabetes pa.”
What made the diagnosis even more shocking was that Sam had long been a vocal advocate for clean living.
Back in November 2022, during the launch of a health-related endorsement, Sam spoke about the lifestyle principles he had cultivated since 2013.
“Through the years, I learned the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle because of the challenging lifestyle that I have as an actor which could affect the wellbeing of both my mind and body," he told the press.
“I need to ensure that I am always in the best physical condition through regular exercise and the right diet coupled with the right amount of sleep.”
He urged his followers to listen to their bodies and get tested regularly, especially if experiencing symptoms like excessive thirst and frequent urination.
At the time of his diagnosis, his blood glucose reading had reached 525 mg/dL.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), normal fasting blood glucose concentration ideally ranges between 70 and 100 mg/dL.
Throughout the day, postprandial (after eating) blood glucose levels should be less than 140 mg/dL, with an average range of 160 to 180 mg/dL to remain within normal limits.
While the meter shows the time of reading, 4:17 P.M., Sam's post does not indicate if he has broken his fast at the time of the reading.
Now at 41, the actor appears more determined than ever to regain control of his health and share that transformation with his audience.
