Leon Barretto has officially stepped into adulthood at 22, putting on his big boy shoes.
Just weeks after earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) in August 2025, the only son of actress Marjorie Barretto officially leaves the family home.
“I’m officially moving out. I’m saying goodbye to my mom and this is going to be my first time living alone,” Leon tells the viewers of his vlog titled Moving Out, which was uploaded on October 3, 2025.
“So, I’m going to be taking you guys with me.”
His excitement is palpable all throughout the video—from furniture shopping with his mom to decorating his new space, and welcoming his dog Mason into their shared home.

Shopping with Mom Marjorie
Before turning over his keys, Leon and “Miss Marge,” as he fondly calls his mom, go shopping for household essentials including curtains, bedsheets, and cutlery.
Marjorie foots most of the bill while gently teasing her son about learning financial responsibility.
“You’ll never learn if I pay for everything,” Marjorie tells him mid-shopping spree.
Leon, grinning, confesses to the camera, “Fine, guys. Mom is actually paying for it. Guilty.”
The playful banter between mother and son becomes one of the vlog’s highlights, showing that while Leon may be moving out, his mom’s influence remains close.
Setting up Leon's Own Space
Once the boxes arrive, Leon takes pride in assembling his own furniture, which is a mix of IKEA and Lazada finds that mirror his minimalist aesthetic.
The living area features a Japanese lamp, a small indoor plant, and color-changing smart lights that instantly transform the space’s mood.
“I finally did a lot of shopping today. We have the couch, a table from IKEA, these chairs from Lazada, the TV—it’s going to be very, very exciting,” he says while giving viewers a peek at the set-up.

He also shows off smaller home details that are telling of his meticulous nature: a candle holder from H&M, a key-and-wallet tray for “the non-negotiables before going out,” and neatly stacked plates he washed himself.
“My mom said, ‘For you to be motivated, finish the job and dry everything right away,’” he explains, laughing as he demonstrates his new dish-drying routine.

LEarning the joy of self-sufficiency
Between playful jokes and music cues, the vlog shows a young man realizing the importance of showing up for yourself daily.
“It does motivate me to work harder. It's such a fulfilling thing, like setting up my home. Legit hard work,” Leon reflects.
His friends drop by to help with decorating.
“Solo living—we have supporters!” Leon quips, panning the camera to his barkada busy hanging curtains and assembling home items with him.
“Look at that placemat. This is just from SM, guys. Not sponsored, but such good deals!” he says with pride, sounding every bit the budget-conscious adult finding joy in practicality.
At one point, a friend of Leon's becomes emotional while congratulating him: “So proud of you, Leon, because I remember the time you were trying to come up with a Pinterest board of your dream apartment, and look at you now.
“You’re making it happen. You’re a big boy now.”

Leon chuckles at the compliment, but the moment carries weight.
For years, he had visualized what independence might look like.
Now, standing in his living room, it is no longer a dream board, but a vision come to life.

Mason, the loyal roommate
Meanwhile, Leon takes a moment to introduce his dog, Mason, to his fans.
“This is Mason’s first time to check our crib,” he says affectionately.
The eight-year-old dog, whom Leon describes as his “best friend,” sniffs around the condo unit as Leon half-jokingly sets “house rules.”
“You are not allowed to poop or pee here, bro. Most of the furniture is white,” he says while reminding Mason they now share the space equally.
“This is not just Leon’s crib—it’s Leon and Mason’s crib.”

He also reveals how he had once smuggled Mason into their previous BGC condo against his mom’s wishes while she was in London.
Eventually, Marjorie fell in love with the dog, and Mason became family.
“My mom liked that she had company. Mason’s really not the nicest dog to strangers, but he’s always gentle with my mom and siblings,” Leon says.
