Birthdays often bring surprises, and for the Yulo family, this year’s celebration came with wheels.
Filipino gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo marked a double occasion by gifting his father, Mark Andrew Yulo, and his mother, Angelica Yulo, a brand-new Kia SUV from Kia Otis in Manila.
Angelica shared the moment on Facebook last Thursday, October 17, 2025, along with photos of her beside the gleaming Snow White Pearl Kia Seltos.
Her caption read: “Bday gift to his dad Mark Andrew Yulo and early birthday gift for me.
“Thank you big time Karl Eldrew Yulo. God bless your big and kind [red heart emojis].”
The post quickly gained traction among Angelica's followers, who commended Karl Eldrew’s thoughtfulness and generosity.
Among those who left messages of admiration was Olympic silver medalist and boxing champion Nesthy Alcayde Petecio, who wrote:
“Grabe ka talaga drew [face with steam from nose emoji] nakakabilib love mo sa parents mo...
“more, more, more, more blessings pa sa career mo, ingat ka lagi sa training...
“happy birthday tito Mark Andrew Yulo [face with steam from nose emoji]”

Karl's Career Track
At just 17, Karl Eldrew Yulo is already carving out a name for himself in Philippine gymnastics.
Following in the footsteps of his older brother, world champion Carlos Yulo, Karl has been steadily proving that he’s more than just the younger sibling of an Olympian.
In 2024, Karl clinched the gold medal in vault at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, marking his breakout year on the international stage.
A year later, he followed it up with a silver finish in vault at the 2025 Junior Asian Championships held in Jecheon, South Korea.
Aside from his specialty event, he also reached the finals in other apparatus, including the floor exercise, pommel horse, and high bar, underscoring his growing versatility.
Apart from him and Carlos, their sister Elaiza Yulo is likewise training in gymnastics.
