Darlings of the lunar calendar, it’s that time of the year again!
With Chinese New Year 2026 just around the bend, business is brisk and frantic for Johnson Chua, one of the most sought-after feng shui consultants in Binondo, if not the entire Philippines.
As the Year of the Fire Horse gallops closer, clients are lining up for the lowdown on everything—from home layouts to career pivots, fortune forecasts, and health tune-ups.
Of course, fielding a surge of consultations this season won’t be complete without questions about romance pouring in.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Chua offers a Valentine’s Day survival guide of sorts for each Chinese zodiac animal sign in the Year of the Fire Horse.
Expect passion, sparks, and for some, a few jolts to the heart.

Love Prospects for each Chinese zodiac sign
Rat: Patience, Please
1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020
Rats may find themselves on edge this year.
“This year is not a good year in terms of conflict problems,” Chua cautions.
“Kailangan po habaan natin yung pasensiya natin. Wag po tayo magmasyadong maging irritable, at saka sasagot nang sasagot.”
Fire Horse energy can be reactive. If Rats leave their senses behind at the first hint of disagreement, small misunderstandings can spiral.
Ox: Singles get a good shot
1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021
Good news is in store for those born in the Year of the Ox.
“This year is a good year, especially for singles finding the right partner,” Chua says.
“It can be a very good year. Tapos also, may mga good blessings din na puwedeng pumasok sa inyo.”
The energy supports stability and meaningful connection. If they have been nursing sour grapes over past heartbreak, this could be the season that changes the narrative.
Say yes to introductions. Yes to the invite. Yes to that coffee date.
Tiger: Step outside, make friends
1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022
Tiger is a friend of the Horse, and that cosmic alliance works in its favor.
“Tigers are very good in 2026,” Chua notes.
“Network, connection, and good relationship may come. Good for mga singles trying to find mga better half din.”
In plain terms, they must widen their circle. Love may not come from a dramatic meet-cute, but from a mutual friend or expanding social scene.
Connection is the theme. Step and mingle.

Rabbit: Sky Happiness Energy
1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023
Rabbit may very well be one of the lucky ones.
As Chua puts it: “Rabbit is also very good, mas lalo na meron kayong sky happiness. This is also a trigger para to activate love luck.”
This overflowing love luck has high chances of escalating: “Puwede na siya in terms of proposal or even marriage.”
Yes, marriage. That’s not an epithet casually thrown around.
This is a year where relationships deepen. To Rabbits, talk about the future.
If single, don’t dismiss someone too quickly. The Fire Horse may push things forward faster than expected.
Dragon: Good Blessings, Guarded Emotions
1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024
Dragon sees blessings in love, but ego can undo the magic.
“May mga good blessings din na puwede pumasok sa relationship o sa love. Pero kailangan po medyo habaan natin yung patience,” Chua advises.
“Huwag tayong magpapadala sa emotion. Huwag tayong masyadong magkakaroon ng self-pity.”
The danger? Retreating into loneliness or assuming the worst.
This is not the year to sulk in silence. If there’s tension, talk. Otherwise, what could have been beautiful may feel irremediable when it was never meant to be.
Snake: Slow Down
1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025
Snakes are known for intensity. This year asks for moderation.
If Snakes treat love like a project with deadlines, they may miss the point.
Pause. Listen. Not every relationship needs a five-year plan by February.

Horse: Conflict Energy at Home
1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014
For Horses, this is their year—but not necessarily their smoothest.
“This year po, medyo may mga conflict energy tayo for the year,” Chua cautions.
“Okay, kailangan po medyo maging careful tayo pagdating sa emotion. Huwag tayong masyadong magpa-provoke.”
Fire meets fire easily. Arguments may flare if they insist on being right.
Chua’s advice is simple: less "patola," more perspective. This year tests maturity in love.
Goat: Best Friend Advantage
1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015
Goat benefits from being the Horse’s best friend in the zodiac cycle.
“This year will be very good,” Chua says. “Good in terms of love energy. Good for singles na nag-aantay ng partners.
“There can even be signs of marriage.”
The keyword here is alignment. If something feels natural and easy, it probably is.
Lean into the warmth. This isn’t a year to doubt every good thing.
Monkey: Transformation Season
1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016
Chua explains that the Monkey’s year comes with shifts.
“Monkey naman, medyo this year, there's a lot of transformation na puwede mangyari. So, baka mas bigyan ng oras sa mga career o sa business or sa mga things that you're trying to explore.
“Mawalan ka ng time para sa in terms of sa love energy. Okay?
“Kaya this year po, very important na practice communication, explain ourselves properly para hindi po tumaas yung mga doubt and problems.”
Without clarity, misunderstandings multiply. With it, growth becomes shared rather than divisive.

Rooster: Strong Love Luck, Stronger Opinions
1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017
Roosters enjoy strong love energy this year.
“May mga signs din ng marriage or proposal para for this year,” Chua notes.
But there’s a caveat.
“Although medyo mataas lang ang tension energy ng mga Rooster, huwag magpapadala sa emotions din.
“At huwag masyadong ginagawang pagdedebatehan ang iba't ibang bagay na puwedeng palakihin.”
If Roosters win the argument but lose the person, what’s the point?
Dog: Increase Network
1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018
Dog also benefits from the friendly Horse energy, according to Chua.
“We can say this year is a very good year, especially in terms of also finding potential partners like that.”
However, Dogs have a tendency to retreat.
“Pero yun nga lang po, medyo kailangan lang, more aware lang tayo sa emotions din natin. Kasi minsan ang Dog po medyo urong-sulong. Okay?
“So, much more better din to also increase yung network and connection para to gain the confidence para ma-push natin talaga yung love natin sa mga tao.”
In other words: love won’t knock for the Dog if they never open the door.
Pig: Balance or Bust
1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019
For those born in the Year of the Pig, the message is clear: love requires time.
“You need to spend more time,” Chua says. “Balance your lifestyle. Balance your work and your personal life.”
He warns that when work and romance are mixed in a scattershot way, problems brew.
“Kasi kung di po [balance], medyo yun po yung nagdadala ng mga problems in terms of love energy. Okay?
“Kasi mamaya, masyado mong hinahalo, makes sense?
This isn’t a hopeless year for Pig, but it is a back-to-basics one. Make time, or love will make a point.
