Diana Zubiri sees her daughter Aliyah following in her footsteps in showbiz.
"Feeling ko yun yung susunod sa akin. Feeling ko mag-a-artistia yun kung gusto niya," she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) back in February.
"Mahilig nga sa makeup. Gusto inaayus-ayusan ko din siya."
Though it is still too far ahead for her daughter, Diana prays that Aliyah won't go through the same way she entered showbiz.
The GMA-7 actress began her showbiz career as a sexy star.
"Ang hirap nung pinagdaanan ko, 'day!" she said, recalling that time.
Diana admitted that she did some projects against her family's wishes back then.
One was her infamous FHM Philippines shoot along EDSA, and then there was this movie that was never shown.
Diana recounted, "Tumakas lang ako. Wala na silang choice. Nagshu-shooting ako ng pelikula, nandun Tatay ko, sinugod yung... Siyempre hindi na lang nilabas yun kasi I was 16 years old at the time."
Diana hopes Aliyah won't have to do sexy projects if ever she does consider showbiz.
The celebrity mom remarked, "Kung puwede naman skip niya yun, puwede na. Skip na niya yun. Ako na lang yun, akin yung title... Hindi rin papayag yung tatay nun."
Aliyah is Diana's daughter with husband Andy Smith.
With regard to her past as a sexy star, Diana is still trying to figure out how to open up to her son, King, who is nine years old.
Once, he saw a revealing photo of Diana online.
The Mystified star said, "Ito nga, may pinost ako sa Instagram. Nakita yung pwet ko.
"Sabi nung anak ko, 'Did you post that?' E, lalaki yung anak ko, di ba?
"Sabi ko, 'No, that's only for magazine.'"
When the right time comes, she hopes he will keep an open mind.
"Hindi rin ako prepared kung papaano ko sasabihin, pero alam mo yung, kapag ready na siya, of course I need to tell him kung ano yung stepping stone ko to be here.
"And I know naman appreciate niya yun."
King is Diana's child with her late husband, Alex Lopez, who died in 2010.
PEP.ph interviewed Diana at the PEP Headliner shoot last February 26.
