Motherhood is a life-changing experience, even for celebrities.
Many celebrity moms take to their social-media accounts to share tips and life lessons they’ve learned, in hopes of inspiring and motivating fellow moms just like them.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lists these tips from six celebrity first-time moms.
GET SUPPORT POSTPARTUM
Even celebrities are not spared from experiencing postpartum struggles.
Iza Calzado has been candid about her first few weeks as a mother, as she reveals on Instagram, “I cried so hard from a few ‘failures’ I felt I had as a new mother.”
Written when she was on her ninth week postpartum, the post also has Iza describing motherhood as “by far, the most challenging yet fulfilling journey I have been on and I know it is only the beginning."

Knowing that more struggles lie ahead, Iza relies on the support of people around her.
She says in an interview with PEP.ph in April 2023, "Hindi po ako magpe-pretend dito na kaya ko lahat. Actually, I can’t.
"And I’m so grateful for the help and support of the people around me. Coz you know, I don’t have parents anymore. Ben’s parents are away.
"And, of course, you can’t naman keep bugging your friends, di ba? So I don’t have that kind of support system around me.
"So I have hired help which I find, there should be no shame in that because they are there, and you treat them as family and they treat you as family, they take care of you, they help you.
"And I’m very, very deeply grateful for that kind of support that I’m given."
Iza gave birth to daughter Deia Amihan, her first child with husband Ben Wintle, on January 26, 2023.

INVEST IN FEEDING-FRIENDLY OUTFITS
Like many new moms, Bianca King must deal with getting a new wardrobe that adapts to her new reality.
She advises fellow moms in an Instagram post last April, “Buy pants and tops that can take you from pregnancy to post partum!”
The former actress reveals that she is “all in” when it comes to breastfeeding, so much so that she has vacuum-sealed and packed away her non-feeding-friendly clothes.
She says, “Breastfeeding is my most important task at the moment so anything to make myself more comfortable and be able to do it longer, I’m all in.”
In her Instagram post on May 5, 2023, Bianca features a “strategic wardrobe” that she calls “Fall Feedwear.”
Her outfits reveal side zippers and buttons that make it easy for moms to breastfeed while still staying stylish.
As Bianca says, “Lifting my shirt in public does not feel cute.”
Bianca announced on Instagram on March 29, 2023, that she had just given birth to her firstborn child with husband Ralph Wintle.
At press time, she has not yet revealed her baby’s name or gender.

PICK UP OLD HOBBIES IN YOUR NEW LIFE
Jessy Mendiola proves that just because you’re now a mom doesn’t mean you can’t pursue your old hobbies.
In an Instagram post back in February, Jessy reveals she bought an SLR camera last year, hoping she could get into underwater photography.
"Unfortunately, I developed vertigo because of an imbalance in my ears. I had to put this away for a very long time."
Now, her camera is put to good use as she finds joy in taking photos of her daughter Isabella Rose.
The new mom is quite the shutterbug as she confesses, "I definitely need to buy lots of SD cards for little Rosie’s pics."
Jessy gave birth to Baby Rosie on December 29, 2022, but it was only on January 7, 2023, that she and husband Luis Manzano announced that they were already parents.

PREPARE FOR THE UNGLAMOROUS SIDE OF MOTHERHOOD
As a mom, Angelica Panganiban has always been keeping it real.
Written two months after giving birth to her daughter Amila Sabine, her Instagram post candidly describes the unglamorous side of caring for a newborn.
Angelica tells fellow moms in her caption (published as is), "Hindi ka na makakapag damit. Tanggapin mo na, na naka bra ka na lang hanggat manawa siyang dumede sayo. Kasama na rin dito ang pag suklay ng buhok. What is hair brush na po tayo. Opo.”
The actress also gives a practical tip, as she writes, "Bago ka mag padede kapag 4am na, mag sipilyo, hilamos at umihi ka na. You’ll never know kung papayag pa ba siyang magpababa sayo ( ibulong mo na din kay Lord na sana makaligo ka sa araw na ito )”
Caring for Amila Sabine, nicknamed Baby Bean, seems to have gotten a bit easier since then. Angelica and her fiance Gregg Homan have been able to travel with Baby Bean to Palawan and even Taiwan.

GO OUT WITH FRIENDS
Caring for a baby can be overwhelming, so it’s important to take some time to yourself and “just breathe,” as Rita Daniela puts it.
The Kapuso actress-singer gets all glammed up to see her friends, but the caption of her Instagram post reveals the true picture of what preparing to go out with friends looks like now that she’s a mom.
She describes her look as “textured skin, chapped lips, incomplete lash extensions, more breast milk.”
Rita and her non-showbiz partner welcomed their son Juan “Uno” Andres on December 22, 2022.

GET SILLY FOR BABY
Babies’ smiles are so precious, it’s no wonder moms are willing to do anything to see them!
Winwyn Marquez shows off her dance moves for Baby Luna in an Instagram Reel with the caption (published as is), “Kahit pagod ka na, pag kailangan aliwin si baby - performance level ang sagot! Pinag p-pray ko na sana wag siya mairita saakin [laughing emoji]”
The beauty queen clearly inherited her comedic genes from her dad Joey Marquez, as her Instagram Reel from October 2022 shows her making silly faces at Baby Luna.
She writes, “Kahit mag mukha akong ewan, mapatawa lang kita anak.”
