Kapuso actress Rere Madrid and basketball star Kai Sotto are set to embrace a new chapter in their lives as they are expecting their first child.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, the couple announced the news in a joint Instagram Reel.
It showed clips of their loved ones reacting to Rere’s pregnancy, including her parents and siblings Ruru and Rara Madrid.

"Gusto ko lang sabihin, Tito and Tita, na may malaking biyaya na dumating sa amin ni Rere, sa ating pamilya.
"Kaya po ako umuwi dito para sabihin sa inyo lahat na....buntis po si Rere," Kai announced in front of Rere’s parents.
In the video, Rere’s parents, Bong and Jackie Madrid, were seen getting emotional.
Bong said, "Hinintay ko yung 'It's a prank.' Handa ka ba, Kai?"
To which Kai immediately replied, "Opo."
Bong continued, "Ikaw, Re?... Ako, hindi e.
“Isa lang, Kai, sana huwag mong sasaktan si Rere.
“Pangako mo sa akin na mamahalin mo siya habang buhay, kahit mawala ako.
“Sa totoo lang, masaya rin naman ako na alam kong nasa tamang tao si Rere.”
In the following clips, Ruru can be seen reacting after learning that his youngest sister is already seven weeks pregnant.
Ruru said: “Masaya ako. Kasi ako, Re, to be honest, kung iisipin mo na magagalit ako sa yo—no.
"Kasi bakit? Anong point?
"Kung nasaan ka ngayon, may dahilan kung bakit ka diyan nilagay.
"At tandaan mo na kakampi mo ako dito, kami."
Aside from the reactions of their loved ones, Rere and Kai also shared clips of their checkups and Rere’s growing baby bump.
In the caption, they wrote (published as is): "For a while, we’ve been living in our own little world. Holding onto a secret that made every day feel like an adventure.
"Every moment, every plan, every quiet smile. It was all for you. And now, we finally get to share it.
"WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!
"Our greatest adventure is just beginning, and you’re already the best part of it."
The couple did not disclose when was the video taken.
RERE AND KAI'S RELATIONSHIP
Rere and Kai tied the knot in a private garden wedding ceremony in Cavite on May 27, 2026.
At the time, Rere admitted that Kai fulfilled one of her biggest dreams—to get married.
She wrote in her post: "Even before, pangarap ko na talagang ikasal.
"I still remember nung 18th birthday ko, tinanong ako kung anong theme yung gusto ko for my debut, and I said gusto ko parang bride yung vibe.
"Even back then, alam ko na hindi madaling makahanap ng totoong pagmamahal.
"That’s why I never expected na at 25, ikaw pala yung tutupad sa isa sa biggest dreams ko."

Rere also thanked Kai for turning her dream—one she once thought was impossible—into reality.
She added, "Thank you, mahal, because you made something real that I once thought was impossible for me.
"Thank you kasi araw-araw mong pinaparamdam sa akin kung gaano mo ako kamahal."
Rere and Kai first made their relationship public when they attended the GMA Gala together in July 2024.
