“Yes, I am a Kapamilya now."
“I'm going to try and establish a home there... yung parang maging mas comfortable ako to make more friends.
“Although, marami na akong friends na nagtatrabaho dun, but you don't see them all, so unti-unti.
“I'm very excited, I can't wait to see what happens next.”
“Kasi the moment I stepped on the stage of It's Showtime, that was really saying I'm doing the show every day.
“And yun naman po yung pinaka-point ng going into Showtime... to start and begin my days working in ABS-CBN.”
Sabi niya, “I don't see any problem with that, trabaho talaga is trabaho. Ganun lang siya kasimple.
“I think parang natapos na yung course ng eighteen to nineteen years ko, maybe a little less or a little more with GMA.
“And all those years, I cannot say na hindi ako thankful with what I had with GMA.”
Dagdag pa ng singer-actress, “I've made family there, ang dami ko nang naging kumare at kumpare, including some of the bosses and directors, lahat... writers.
“It's really such a big adjustment for me to move right away as a Kapamilya, kasi talagang ambilis lang ng pangyayari.”
WHAT TRIGGERED THE CHANGE?
Lahad niya, “When Sunday All Stars came in kasi, naging judges kami.
“If you remember the first few episodes, maybe two or three months, nakaupo kami nila Regine... nagdya-judge ng mga artist na sumasayaw at nagpi-present.
“It felt very scary na, 'Pa'no to, singer tayo? Sa'n tayo kakanta?'
“When they took out Sunday All Stars, then I knew I have to think about making some changes.
“So I went on my own without a manager for eleven months because I wanted to see, 'Can I do this alone? Am I really alone in this journey? What should I do?'
It was just my decision.
“So, nung binago ko yun lahat, I went on my own. I did some US shows, all booked by myself.
“Ako ang na-book nun and I was paid all the way through, tapos sabi ko, 'Kaya pala, e.'
“But you just close your eyes, you cry a little bit, you talk to your husband and you reveal what's in your heart, and then you pray to God and say, 'God, aney 'to?
“'If it's another test, I'm willing, I'm taking it. I'm going to be obedient, I'm going to be patient. I will not complain because You know exactly where you want me.'"
Patuloy ni Jaya, “I was very frustrated, scared.
“I don't think I was hurt but I was parang... confused is more of the word.
“Hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko, of course, two soaps came after that, but it's not really what I wanna do lang.
“Talagang naghanap ako ng ways paano ulit ako kakanta sa TV, and that was just another way of it happening with Cornerstone coming into the picture.
“I said yes to them and, yun na, they put me in Showtime parang to start with.
“Talagang yung akin, medyo na-shaken ako dahil wala akong kakantahan sa Siete, but I don't have a problem with them shifting and changing their programming.
“It's their program, it's their network. 'Yan naman ang ano, business 'yan e.”

NEW BEGINNING.
“We're just talking and the next thing you know is, [Kyla said], 'Ate, hindi puwede, kailangan mo ng manager.'
“I was just joking around, but I was saying, 'I don't need it. Okay na ako. Nakakahiya naman.'
“Then they came in my dressing room. Si Jeff Vadillo and si Ms. Cynthia Roque [from Cornerstone], came in with Erik and that was it.
“They approached me and I said yes right away.
“Pero sa akin kasi, there was a story behind that.
“And I really didn't even think na kukunin nila ako as a talent or they were interested in me as a talent.
“When they came up to me, I said, 'This is it.'”
Sabi niya, “Talking to Kyla and Erik and all of the other Cornerstone artists, lahat sila all praises mula kay Erickson [Raymundo], kay Jeff, kay Caress [Caballero], kay Cynthia.
“Lahat sila all praises, and I said I have to find it out for myself.
“Lo and behold, grabe sila mag-alaga. I've seen how they take care for the artist.
“They're there for them, with them, all hours of the day kung kailangan.”
“Yun ang nakagisnan kong kultura, e, and here, I'm spoiled, not naman because they need to spoil me, but that's how they treat everyone.”
“Marami akong kasama at marami akong matututunan sa lahat and, at the same time, sila kasi very straightforward.
“And the only thing about me is masunurin po kasi ako, hindi ako reklamador.
“American style. If someone tells me to do this, 'Yeah, sure, I'll do it.' As long as hindi ako maaksidente or mahe-hurt, go.
“Sobrang casual ako to work with.
“That's why I'm so happy with them to work with dahil ganun sila magbigay ng importansiya at halaga sa mga artist nila. Ang bait talaga nila.”
