BTS leader RM has apologized after his recent statement about the K-pop supergroup’s future stirred concern among fans worldwide.
On December 6, 2025, during a livestream on Weverse, RM opened up about the group’s situation following their long hiatus.
He admitted that the uncertainty and responsibilities have made him question many things.
RM also confessed that the thought of BTS disbanding had crossed his mind “thousands of times.”

But despite these inner struggles, he reassured fans that the group remains intact, citing the love among the members and their deep respect for their fans, ARMY.
With that, he encouraged fans to be patient and understanding, especially as they await the group’s return to the music scene after all members — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — have completed their mandatory military service.
RM said: “It might sound like an excuse, but considering the scale and various situations, I ask for your understanding.
"We will definitely return, and while it might not always meet your expectations, we will do our best.”

BTS' ANTICIPATED COMEBACK
RM also shared the intense pressure involved in planning a comeback, giving an update about BTS’ anticipated album — the group’s first full-length release in nearly six years, expected in March 2026.

“We cannot easily come back until we present something that satisfies our fans.
"Since last month, I haven’t slept properly. I was even considering whether to get a prescription for sleeping pills.
"The album is almost ready, and we practiced together yesterday,” he stated.
He added: “Some preparation is needed. After being discharged, I wanted to pursue various activities, but there were reasons I couldn’t.
"I can’t disclose everything because I don’t have the right to speak on it.
"I don’t know about the other members, but personally, the pressure is immense. Just preparing is frustrating.”
BTS’ RM Issues Apology to Concerned Fans
RM’s candid comments quickly sparked concern online, prompting countless messages that urged him to prioritize his mental well-being.
On December 9, RM addressed fans in a letter on Weverse, acknowledging their feelings and clarifying that his earlier remarks came from “personal frustration.”
“I think I may have made a lot of ARMY feel tired with the livestream two days ago.
"I’m really sorry. I got so many messages from people who were worried about me.
"I regret turning it on now, but at the time, I was just feeling frustrated and acted on that feeling,” he expressed.
The group’s leader appealed for understanding, asking fans to view him and BTS kindly as he vowed to continue his activities as an idol.
“Please look at me kindly, even just a little. I’ll focus on making music, practicing choreography together, creating new content, getting enough rest, and living like that,” RM said.
BTS went on hiatus in 2022 as group members began their mandatory military service.
In June 2025, Suga became the last member to complete his service.
