Pumanaw si Charlie noong umaga ng Martes, February 22, 2022.
Siya ay Tarlac congressman at anak ng yumaong bilyonaryo na si Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco.

Inatake ng brain aneursym si Charlie habang siya ay nasa Clark International Speedway sa Pampanga.
Napag-alaman iyon ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noon pang October 27, 2021, pero hindi iyon inulat noon.
Kakakasal lamang sa simbahan ni Charlie kay China Jocson noong October.

Pinanghinaan ng tuhod si Sharon dahil sa hindi inaasahang balita, lalo pa't si Charlie ay 58 taong gulang lamang.
Ayon kay Sharon, ang mister niyang si Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan ang nagbalita sa kanya ng tungkol sa pagpanaw ni Charlie.
Mensahe ni Sharon: "I had never lost someone I was extremely close to and who was a big part of my life before, much less an ex-fiancé, until yesterday.
"So sudden. So unexpected. Too young.
"It was Kiko who told me of your passing as we were in the car on our way to another campaign yesterday, and I thank God my dear husband understood and comforted me as my knees went weak and I suddenly became too quiet in my state of shock."

SHARON REMEMBERS HAPPY TIMES WITH CHARLIE
Kasabay nito ay inalala ng Megastar ang magandang samahan nila ni Charlie, na tinawag niyang "partner" pagdating sa food trip at sa interes nila sa gun firing.
"Dear Charlie, thank you for making me fall in love with Pontevedra, beautiful Balbina, Manang Inyi and the other girls who took such good care of me whenever I was there.
"Thank you for all the meals we shared as former partners-in-food - and being a great shot as my partner in firing guns.
"For taking such good care of me."
Hinding-hindi raw malilimutan ni Sharon kung gaano napalapit ang puso niya sa mga magulang ni Charlie at ibang mga kaanak nito.
"Most of all, thank you for the family I gained because of you: Tito Danding who treated me like a daughter, Tita Gretchen who is still 'Mom' to me whenever I once in a while see her in our building, Abuelita Nuning who never failed to show me how much she loved me even long after 'us,' even taking care of me in Baguio as I shot 'Ngayon at Kailanman,' and always, always, at her beautiful home on Roberts in Pasay;

"REUNITED WITH RIO IN HEAVEN"
Hindi man daw sila nagkatuluyan ni Charlie, idiniin ni Sharon na sobrang saya niya nang makatagpo ng pag-ibig si Charlie sa actress-host na si Rio Diaz.
Sampung taong mag-asawa sina Charlie at Rio bago binawian ng buhay si Rio noong 2004 dahil sa colon cancer.
Hanggang sa muli ngang nakatagpo ng pag-ibig si Charlie kay China.
Hindi tahasang binanggit ni Sharon, pero mahihinuhang alam niya ang tungkol sa dinanas na brain aneurysm ni Charlie noong October 2021.
Patuloy ni Sharon: "Thank you for all the memories and good times, for taking care of me.
"Though we didn’t make it together, I was so happy when you found your Rio and my heart broke for you when you lost her.
"I found my Kiko and my own happiness too.
"I was happy for you when you remarried, and shocked when just a few weeks later, 'THAT' happened (I have no business giving details here), and feel for your new wife."
Sa huli, sinabi ni Sharon na "reunited" na sa heaven sina Charlie at Rio.
Nagpaabot din ng simpatiya si Sharon sa mga naulila ni Charlie, partikular na ang dalawang anak nito kay Rio, at misis ni Charlie na si China.
"Rest now, Carlos. No more pain, stress, init-ulo, problems. I know you are reunited with Rio in heaven and I will pray for your Claudia and Jaime as they face the future without you both…
"Be happy in God’s loving arms. Our deepest condolences to the whole Cojuangco family, especially Mrs. Charlie Cojuangco.
"May God give you the strength you will need as you go through these loneliest of times."
Taong 2018 nang mabanggit ni Sharon ang tungkol sa broken engagement nila ni Charlie noon.
Tinawag niya itong "billionaire's son" na muntik na niyang makatuluyan.
Dati ring sinabi ni Sharon na kahit na bigo ang pag-iibigan nila ni Charlie ay nanatiling malapit sa puso niya ang mga magulang nito.
