Xian Lim denies the rumor he's been tapped to host GMA-7’s reported local franchise of The Voice.
This was his reply on Twitter to the question poised by the PEP Troika, “The Voice, lilipat na sa GMA-7 with Xian Lim as host?” in its column dated June 17, 2022.
PEP Troika mentioned that some people from the network management wanted Xian to host The Voice on GMA-7.
According to the article, Kapuso fan pages posted art cards stating that GMA-7 has acquired the rights of The Voice.
The article also said sources have been alleging that The Voice has been acquired by GMA-7.
And also based on the social media pages, Xian reportedly was chosen as the host, It was also alleged that coaches Bamboo Manalac and Sarah Geronimo would join the move of The Voice to GMA-7.
But to hear it from Xian, he said he could only wish.
In his tweet, the VIVA actor said that he has not received any word from the management about the project.
He wrote, “Oh wow, nice! I wish it's true :-) No word from management yet but this would truly be great :-). I would love to host <3”
Bamboo and Sarah also have not reacted to the rumor.
GMA-7 itself has yet to issue an official statement or confirmation about its reported acquisition of The Voice.
ABS-CBN aired the Pinoy version of The Voice from 2013 to 2020 with regular, kid, and teen editions.
Xian, who is in a per-project contract with GMA-7, last appeared in the Kapuso mini-series False Positive with Glaiza de Castro.
He is also set to be the male lead of the postponed teleserye Love. Die. Repeat, which will be headlined by Jennylyn Mercado.
