Since its founding in 2013, QCinema International Film Festival has become a platform for viewers to catch a diverse lineup of films, local and international.

Filmmakers from Southeast Asia are invited to join a competition for the chance to exhibit their work at this year's QCinema International Film.

The QC-SEA Shorts Competition is open to all Southeast filmmakers ages 18 years old and above with short films produced from the period of January 2022 to August 2023.

Film entries must have a total running time of at least 20 minutes, which includes the opening and closing credits.

The competition is open to all genres including narrative, experimental, and documentary.

Non-English language film submissions must include English subtitles.

Submitted films should not be available on any streaming platforms accessible in the Philippines, free or paid.

Only the film’s directors are allowed to enter and only one entry per director will be allowed by the festival, as mentioned in the guidelines.

To join, the director must fill out an entry form and submit a synopsis of the film, his or her biography, a headshot, a copy of the poster, and a link to its screener.

WHAT IS QCINEMA?

Founded in 2013, QCinema International Film Festival is an annual event hosted by Quezon City.

The festival has become a platform for viewers to catch a diverse lineup of films from local and international filmmakers.

QCinema, over the years, has broadened its programming to appeal to various audience segments, including the LGBTQ community.

More than anything, the 10-year-old festival caters to young and experienced filmmakers, most especially Filipinos, to show their work on the big screen.

The 2022 edition of the festival was particularly memorable as it hosted the first Philippine screening of the critically-acclaimed satirical black comedy, Triangle of Sadness, starring Dolly de Leon.
