MTRCB summons Third World Romance for use of profanity in trailer
Distributor and producer of the film 'Third World Romance,' starring Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon, were summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) after an uncensored trailer was released without the agency’s review and approval.

Naglabas ng memorandum ang pamunuan ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) para ipatigil ang pagpapalabas ng trailer ng pelikula nina Carlo Aquino at Charlie Dizon na Third World Romance.

Ito'y dahil sa "unclassified and unrated version" ng trailer, kung saan nagbitaw ng murang p*t*ng*na ang karakter ni Charlie na si Britney habang kausap niya sa telepono si Carlo (Alvin).

Kasabay ng showing ng Third World Romance sa mga sinehan noong August 16, 2023, ay ang paglalabas din ng pahayag ng MTRCB.

Nakasaad sa statement na hindi dumaan sa kanilang pagsusuri ang nasabing trailer, kaya't wala rin itong permit to exhibit.

Anila (published as is), “It has come to our attention that an unclassified and unrated version of the trailer of ‘Third World Romance’ with the expletive phrase "putang ina" in one of the scenes is being exhibited in cinemas.

"The said uncensored version of the trailer has not been reviewed by the Board, hence, has NO permit to exhibit.”

Sa bisa ng Section 1, Article III, of Memorandum Circular No. 04-2014, ipinag-utos ng MTRCB sa mga cinema operator na hindi na maaari pang ipalabas sa sinehan ang trailer ng Third World Romance.

Ipinatawag na rin ng ahensya, sa pangunguna ni MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto-Antonio, ang distributor at producer ng naturang pelikula para magpaliwanag kung bakit ito nakalusot na hindi nire-review ng board.

Mababasa sa sulat ng MTRCB, "We would like to remind all cinema operators of Section 1, Article III, of Memorandum Circular No. 04-2014 which provide that "only such versions of trailer duly approve and passed by the Board shall be fit for public exhibition.

"The introduction of any change or revision to the trailer reviewed shall render the trailer, as changed or revised, as whole new version requiring a new independent application for review with the Board.

"In connection, we strongly advise that you refrain from exhibiting the said version of the trailer."

Dagdag pa ng MTRCB, "Further, a Notice to Appear and Explain will be served to the distributor/producer of the said trailer.

"For your proper guidance and strict compliance."
