Blind Auditions
Vocalmyx made an unforgettable entrance into the people's hearts during the premiere of The Voice Generations PH's inaugural season.
On August 23, 2023, viewers tuned in to witness the first episode where Vocalmyx took the stage as the season's opening act. Their performance was not only the first of the season but it instantly set the bar high for the competition.
The group's rendition of "Haypa," a high-energy number originally performed by the MMJ twins, captivated the audience and judges alike.
Released in 2015, Haypa is a catchy song known for its vibrant and lively beats. It captures the spirit of celebration and dance.
Vocalmyx's interpretation of the song added a fresh and harmonious twist to it, solidifying their place as a standout act from the very beginning.
The judges' reaction to Vocalmyx's performance was unanimous. All coaches turned their chairs in a show of approval and desire to mentor the group.
This rare consensus among the coaches underscored the group's potential and marked Vocalmyx as a force to be reckoned with in the competition.
It was clear from the outset that Vocalmyx had the talent, stage presence, and charisma that The Voice Generations PH was looking for, promising an exciting journey ahead for them in the show.
Sing-Offs
In this part of the season, the coaches will pick an envelope behind the scenes, and the team of the coach who draws the envelope featuring the show's emblem will take the stage for that episode.
Additionally, coaches have the prerogative to determine the sequence in which their artists will perform. During this phase, every group will showcase their talents by singing a song they've chosen.
When the round concludes, the coaches will each choose four of their groups to progress to the battle, which will then narrow the field down to a total of 16 contenders.
StellBound (Coach Stell’s groups) was featured in episode nine, which aired on October 22, 2023.
Vocalmyx was the fourth to sing their piece, "Marupok." They were spared from elimination this round but they were in the bottom two.
Imperial Duo with their rendition of "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton was eliminated during this round.
Battles
At this point, each of The Voice Generations coaches has four groups who will be pitted against each other to advance to the next stage.
During the Battles round, each artist performed a song chosen by their coach, with performances occurring consecutively. After each Battle, the coach decided which one of the two groups to eliminate. By the end of this round, only eight groups would proceed to the next stage.
To aid the StellBound groups, coach Stell enlisted the help of SB19 for this round.
In episode 12 aired on November 12, 2023, Vocalmyx sang their rendition of "Killing Me Softly With His Song."
They were pitted against the Luntayao Family, who sang "All By Myself."
Coach Stell chose Vocalmyx as the group to advance to the next round along with the Sorority group, who won against Twirali, in this round.
Semi-Finals
Vocalmyx once again appeared in episode 14 as one of the first contending groups during the semi-final round. Coach Stell has to choose between their group and the ForteNors during this round.
The former’s rendition of "Queen of the Night" helped them advance to the final round, compared to the latter’s performance of "You Give Love a Bad Name."
Grand Finals
December 10, 2023 (episode 16) marked the grand finals for the first season of The Voice Generations.
This time, each coach had only one team to root for for the prestigious title. Vocalmyx was the third to perform with the song "Into the Unknown" from Frozen II.
Coach Julie Anne San Jose’s Music & Me performed "Hallelujah" by Bamboo. Coach Billy Crawford’s P3 sang "Go the Distance," while Coach Chito MIranda’s Sorority rendered their version of "This Is Me" from The Greatest Showman.
Vocalmyx garnered the highest votes from fans.
The eight-member group captivated the viewers as they sang "Into The Known" without accompaniment, showcasing their talent and creativity in making beautiful music together.
Based on netizens' comments on social media, they believed that it was a "well-deserved win" as the group consistently wowed with their performances from audition to the finals.
Even Coach Stell was on cloud nine over the group's victory.
"Nung tinawag yung Vocalmyx, nag-flashback lahat ng mga pagdududa ko sa sarili ko, pagdududa ko sa buong journey ko sa The Voice, even yung journey ko as SB19," said Stell in Fast Talk With Boy Abunda's episode on Monday, December 11, 2023.
He added, "One thing for sure po is super happy po ng puso ko and super excited po ako and looking forward for the next projects and next season ng The Voice, if ever po magkakaroon."
