Building seamless on-screen chemistry came naturally for Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin as they work in the film Under Parallel Skies.
This synergy was evident during the movie's press conference held on April 2, 2024, at Hilton Manila, where the duo fielded questions about their dynamic.
Janella swiftly attributed their effectiveness as actors to their director, Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, who, Janella said, is "our secret!"
WIN METAWIN ON BUILDING ON-SCREEN CHEMISTRY WITH JANELLA SALVADOR
Win remarked that he found no challenge in establishing a bond with Janella, citing the shared cultural similarities between Thailand and the Philippines.
The 25-year-old Thai heartthrob said, "The Filipino team and the Thai team, as I said the cultures isn’t really different.
"So, the team – everyone [is] close to everyone, during the shoot... and the crew.
"So, it’s easier for us to talk and to chitchat, and we got closer everyday while shooting."

In an earlier chat with PEP.ph, Janella shared that she and Win did a workshop in Thailand before the filming started.
This helped them become more comfortable with each other before working on the movie.
Besides the workshop, Win and Janella mentioned during the press conference that they grew closer and were able to build rapport while filming, especially during their off-camera bonding moments.
Even though they were limited, Janella appreciated the "dancing nights" with Win.
She said, "We were able to bond [during] the dancing nights. We didn’t really have that much time to go around off-cam, but that was fun."
For Win, the extended travel time between taping locations served as another opportunity for them to get to know each other.
He said, "I think when we shot in like Tai O and Teng Xiao, you know.
"Tai O is especially the one that I think is the hardest one because it took us so long to get there as well."
WIN METAWIN ON UNDER PARALLEL SKIES
During the press conference, Win was asked about his experience collaborating with a Filipino production company, particularly since this marked his second major movie project.
The Thai actor expressed, "It was a very good experience working with the Filipino team.
"I think the culture—our culture is very similar. So I don’t have to adapt anything, or train anything for myself, you know. We just, how do I say it… blend in easily."
Win also discussed his character in the film named Parin, who travels to Hong Kong and encounters Janella's character, Iris.
With regard to the similarities between his character and himself in real life, Win remarked that they don't share many traits.
He said, "For me, [we're] not really similar, as well. I think Parin... Just the way he understands happiness, that you can create your own happiness, on your own."
This aspect also posed a challenge for Win in portraying the character. In fact, he regards it as the most challenging role he has undertaken thus far.
The Thai actor told the press, "I think it’s almost the hardest for me, to play this role.
"Because the ending of Parin. Yeah, that one. I think that one is like... you have to watch it and you will see what’s the hardest part for me."
But if given the chance, what would be his advice to Parin?
He quipped, "For Parin, don’t drink so much. Because he drinks a lot."
