Elisse Joson is on the defensive as some critics continuously cast unscrutinized judgment toward her long-time partner McCoy de Leon.
Today, June 5, 2024, the 28-year-old celebrity mom took to her social media accounts to pay tribute to the man who made her believe in true love.

ELISSE'S LOVE LETTER TO MCCOY
Elisse begins her heartfelt message by acknowledging the qualities in McCoy that often go unnoticed by others. She expresses her admiration for his gentle nature, dedication to fatherhood, and ability to balance multiple roles and responsibilities.
She writes (published as is): "Not everyone will understand.. how good of a person u are...
"how soft of a man u are... how u manage to become a father in ur 20's... how freedom was taken from u in ur prime...
"how ur still finding yourself... how hard ur trying to be the best partner for me... how hard ur working to provide for us...
"how ur learning to become a family man... how u still do ur best do be a brother and a son all at the same time."
The Star Magic actress reminds him that his sacrifices are appreacited despite critics continuing to weigh in on their relationship.
"Hindi nakikita ng lahat.. na sinasabayan mo ko sa lahat ng trip ko," she mentions.
"na pinag-iisa mo ang ating dalawang mundo... na inaaral mo ako... na nagaadjust ka at nagbabago araw araw...
"na tinuturuan mo ko lagi maging "mas" maging better... na mawalan ka na sa pangsarili, maibigay mo lang sa iba... na malalim ang pinanggagalingan mo...
"na tayo ay dalawang tao na patuloy pa ding lumalaki, lumalago, natututo, lalo sa pagiging magulang...
"na ako ay pinoprotektahan mo hanggang huli... na tayo ay nagkakamali... na ikaw ay nagkamali... na AKO ay nagkamali"
She adds, "at hindi lahat parepareho ng pamamaraan ng pag hilom ng mga sugat.
"Sometimes we don't even know how to take away the pain. I'm sorry I put u through this."
"Heal."
As she concludes her letter, accompanied by several heartwarming photos, she urges netizens to be more mindful of the labels they attach to McCoy.
"Don't put him in a category. Don't put him in a box.
"He's a person. Not any label or description u put him into. A person worthy of being known for himself as a whole.
"Not his past, not his mistakes, not whatever u see him as. Mccoy" just "mccoy" A human being just like u.
"But for me and felize, he is our strength. He is our family. He is what felize has."
Once again, Elisse speaks to McCoy: "Mccoy ko, These pictures are not enough.
"But I hope these moments remind u that for the people that matter.. we see u, we hear u, we appreciate u."

Among those who reacted to Elisse's post is Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, whose husband Jason Francisco is also being targeted by critics after she revealed that he had cheated on her in the past.
Melai comments: "Super nakakaiyak nmn tu [crying emoji] im sure umiiyak ka Elisse habang nagtatype netu, hayaan mu ang mga di nakakaintindi sa mga asawa natin Elisse #relate
"Ang importante, tayu ang makakaintindi sa kanila and kahit tayu lang sapat na [finger heart emoji]"
BRIEF SEPARATION
In January 2023, the couple broke up following news of McCoy being involved with social-media influencer Mary Joy Santiago, who is a talent of Viva just like McCoy.
He quickly issued a statement about the split via Instagram story on January 4, 2023 (published as is):
"Wala po involve na ibang tao ang pinaka rason kaya kami naghiwalay. Sana po maniwala po kayo.
"Hindi ko po intensyon manakit ng tao o manloko. Sadyang dumating lang po sa point na sobrang bigat ng problema kaya po ako sumuko."
He also explained the alleged conversations between him and Mary Joy that were leaked all over the web.
"Hindi po totoo yung mga convo na kumakalat, hindi po ako yun. Pasensya na po ulit," he affirmed.
"Sana maintindihan niyo po ako. Ginagawa ko lang po to dahil mapakita ko lang sa anak ko na naipagtanggol kahit pa paano sarili ko.
"Uulitin ko po humihingi rin po ako ng pasensya sa inyo lahat."
Elisse and McCoy have been in an on-and-off relationship since appearing on Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 in 2017.
They welcomed their baby girl Felize McKenzie Joson de Leon on April 10, 2021.
