“It is foolish game and it is insulting at the same time," himutok ni Victor Puyat sa panayam sa kanya ni ABS-CBN News reporter Jekki Pascual para sa TV Patrol ngayong Biyernes, July 26, 2024.

“But most of all, I felt bad that people can now do anything in total disrespect for somebody who has served the country so well.”

MAKATI LGU ADDRESSES THE ISSUE

Batay sa Local Government Code of the Philippines, ang pagpapalit ng pangalan ng “local government unit or a public place, street or structure with historical, cultural, or ethnic significance shall not be changed, unless by a unanimous vote of the Sanggunian concerned and in consultation with the Philippine Historical Commission.”

Bahagi ng kanilang post: “We recognize and deeply regret the insensitivity of our execution and we offer our sincerest apologies to the Puyat family, the Makati City government, and the public.

“We have learned from this mistake and are committed to doing better.”
