Labis na dinaramdam ng veteran actors na sina Michael de Mesa at Tirso Cruz III ang pagpanaw ng malapit na kaibigang si Ricky Davao.
Pumanaw si Ricky dahil sa cancer noong Huwebes, Mayo 1, 2025.
Siya ay 63.

MICHAEL DE MESA: "We’ve been through so much together..."
Sa parte ni Michael, inalala niya ang limang dekada nilang pagkakaibigan ni Ricky.
Schoolmates sila at madalas magkasama sa mga gimik bilang teenagers.
Mensahe niya: "Ricky, my brother… this one really hurts.
"You know I’m a man of few words, but with you, there’s just so much to say.
"I’ve known you since I was 14. That’s 50 years!
"We’ve been through so much together— from the school lunch breaks we used to sneak in just to hang out, to the countless days and nights as barkada with my brother, Ralph, and your brother, Bing. We were inseparable."
Ang "Ralph" na tinutukoy ni Michael ay ang kanyang pumanaw na kapatid na si Mark Gil.
Hindi rin daw pikunin si Ricky. At higit sa lahat, lagi itong positibo sa lahat ng bagay.
Saad ni Michael: "You were always the one with a smile, always positive, always kind. Walang masamang tinapay sa yo.
"Never pikon, no matter how harsh the jokes or kung gaano ka grabe yung pag-asar ko sa yo. You’d just laugh it off like it was nothing.
"That was the kind of person you were. Lighthearted, generous, and full of joy."
Seryoso raw si Ricky sa kanyang trabaho bilang aktor at direktor.
Nakita rin daw niya kung paano ipinagmalaki ni Ricky ang una niyang trinabahong proyekto bilang direktor.
Pagpapatuloy ni Michael: "As an artist, I truly admired you. You were so passionate about your craft, and I could feel your excitement every time you told me about a new directorial project.
"I remember how proud you were when you finally got to direct which was a dream you never gave up on. We worked together on TV, film, and stage, and I’ll always treasure those moments.
"To be able to create with you was an honor."
Isa rin daw sa pinakagustong gawin ni Ricky ay ang kumanta.
Minsan daw ay pinagkakaisahan nilang huwag ipasa rito ang mikropono tuwing may mga pagtitipon sila.
Pagbabahagi ni Michael: "I remember when you got to sing while Ryan Cayabyab played the piano. You were so proud about that. Grabe… you really loved to sing.
"We always tried our best not to give you the mic, because once you got your hands on it, you would never let it go!"
Malalim daw ang pinagsamahan nina Michael at Ricky.
Ngayong wala na si Ricky, patuloy raw niyang aalalahanin ang magagandang pinagsamahan nila.
Saad ni Michael: "We’ve come a long way, my friend. And now, I’ll have to come to terms with a world that no longer has you in it. But I’ll hold on to the memories, the laughter, and the brotherhood.
"Rest easy, Frederick Charles. I take comfort in knowing you’re now with our Lord, probably cracking jokes and sharing stories with Ralph and Cherie up there.
"Until we meet again. I will miss you so much. I love you, my brother."

TIRSO CRUZ III: "a man of many talents."
Malalim din ang pinagsamahan nina Tirso Cruz III at Ricky Davao.
Inilarawan ni Tirso ang kanilang pagkakaibigan bilang "kariño brutal."
Sabi ni Tirso sa kanyang post (published as is): "You will be greatly missed Kiriks. Just one of the many names I call Ricky Davao. A Director, a great Actor, a loving father, a singer (kuno) and a true friend.
"Kidding aside, he was truly a man of many talents. We had a unique and weird way of showing how we cared for each other. we called it KARIÑO BRUTAL!
"That was our crazy way of having fun by verbally destroying each other. (pero lambing lang namin yun sa isa't isa)"
Pero hindi lang daw puro kalokohan ang kanilang pinaggagawa noon. May mga panahong seryoso rin sila.
Sabi pa ni Tirso: "But we also had our serious times and conversations. He was a strong willed man but also a gentle and loving son.
"I will never forget an incident. He was at a location shoot out of town when he got the news that his dad passed away. He called me right away.
"I remembered he was calling from a public place, but he didn't care if people around were watching while he was crying his heart.
"This was when I saw the tenderness in his heart. How he truly loved and cared for his father."
Mensahe pa niya sa pumanaw na kaibigan: "I will never forget you Ricky. You will always have a special place in my heart, my friend and Kumpare (Rikki Mae his daughter is my goddaughter). Be with the Lord now."
