In workplaces, rumors often travel faster than official memos.
In one hospital, what was meant to remain a private matter has quietly become the subject of water cooler talk.
A source relays the details to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) after picking up chatter about their Big Boss who, apparently, had taken a liking to a hospital Employee.
According to the source, the Big Boss was seen making advances—going so far as to confessing his feelings to her, “Do you know that I like you?"
The source is unable to determine when or where the confession took place, but it seems that the Big Boss’s infatuation had become regular talk among a number of employees.
At first glance, it almost looks like the set-up for a romantic drama.
But, according to the source, the situation is far from being romantic.
For one, the Employee does not reciprocate the Big Boss’s feelings.
She actually feels quite uncomfortable with the attention, to the point, the source guesses, of being disturbed.
Until, finally, she decided to bring the matter up to management.
However, still according to the source, there is nervous speculation in the workplace that the lovely Employee may be placed at a disadvantage. After all, this is the “big boss.”
Among the comments overheard:
“Naku, big boss ang binabangga niya, puwede siyang pagdiskitahan.”
“Ang hirap naman kapag na-single out ka ng someone in power. Hahayaan mo lang ba dahil boss siya?"
“Kakampihan kaya ng management si big boss?”
What disturbs the source the most, however, is that the issue has become a topic of casual workplace chatter inside a reputable hospital.
And that the employees fear the kind of influence the Big Boss may have within the institution.

EMPLOYEE FILEs A FORMAL COMPLAINT
PEP, using its own network, has found a second source familiar with admin work at the hospital.
According to this second source, the female Employee has already filed a formal complaint with the hospital’s Human Resources Department.
While the second source is not privy to the latest developments, he is aware that the issue has left even some physicians disgruntled.
The general tenor is: “If this blows up, nakakahiya naman. Hospital pa naman, tapos involved sa ganito?”
The second source also points out that the Big Boss should have exercised better judgment. After all, he holds a very high position.
“But he seems to be very open about it—when, in fact, he is married.”
To add to the very unromantic scenario, the Employee is married, too.
Now why does the story deserve space in PEP?
Because, as it happens, the lovely employee is a former TV actress.
