P-pop boy group New:ID officially parts ways with MLD Entertainment.
On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the South Korean entertainment agency announces that it has mutually agreed with all members to terminate their exclusive contracts after "careful discussion."
According to MLD Entertainment, the decision was reached through mutual agreement and with respect for one another.
The company thanks Wilson, Macky, L, Thad, and Yom for their dedication throughout their time under the agency, saying it was grateful for the memories they created together.
"Although our journey as a management company and artists comes to an end here, we will sincerely support and cheer for the members as they move forward on their respective paths," the agency states.
MLD also expresses gratitude to fans, collectively known as NewDAYs, for their unwavering support over the past two years, and asked them to continue cheering on the members as they begin new chapters in their careers.

New:ID bids farewell to their fans
In the second slide of the same post, New:ID releases a handwritten letter addressed to NewDAYs, which reflects on the emotional decision to disband.
The members admit that the news would likely come as a shock, describing the decision as one that took a long time to make because they understood that their journey belonged not only to them but also to their fans.
The group notes that they had only recently marked their second debut anniversary, and that they had imagined celebrating many more milestones together instead of writing a farewell letter.
Words of gratitude follow, as they thank fans who supported them long before their official debut and continued to stand by them through periods of uncertainty.
"We're so sorry we couldn't make that happen," they express.
"Even so, you stayed. Through the silence, through every 'maybe soon' and through every moment where believing in us wasn't easy. We'll never be able to thank you enough for that."
Despite the heartbreak, the members assure that they believe the decision is ultimately what's best for everyone.
"As much as it hurts, we believe that this is what's best for everyone. Some goodbyes aren't about giving up. Sometimes they're about making room for something that's meant to grow."
Instead of saying goodbye, the group leaves fans with a hopeful message.
"We'll miss you, NewDAYs. But we don't really like saying goodbye, so let's just call it a 'see you later.'
"Until then, we'll keep moving forward, and we hope you'll continue walking beside us, wherever life takes us. After all, every new chapter has to begin somewhere...
"...Sometimes, it begins on day one."
New:ID debuted under MLD Entertainment in 2024 with members Wilson, Macky, L, Thad, and Yom.
