Nakasaad sa kanilang post: “Upon learning of the passing of Filipino actress Jaclyn Jose, the Cannes Festival remembers her beaming with emotion as she received the 2016 Acting Award for Ma’Rosa by Brillante Mendoza.
“Like many of her other roles, she illuminated this very beautiful portrait of a woman, embodied her with grace and humanity.”

"Why did you select Jacly Jose from Ma’ Rosa? Some critics felt it was a supporting performance," tanong ni D’Alessandro, na mahahalatang hindi alam ang kanyang sinasabi dahil sa pamagat pa lang na Ma’ Rosa, hindi maipagkakailang si Jaclyn ang bida ng pelikula.
“The critics were wrong bar none. That’s a big-time leading role,” maagap na sagot ni award-winning at veteran Canadian actor Donald Sutherland, na isa sa mga miyembro ng jury.
“Come on, she’s the film. Have you seen the performance she gave?
Sabi ni Sutherland, “At the end of that movie, that vision that she has and her reaction to it while she’s eating those four white balls [fishballs]…”

Aniya, "We found her to be a wonderful wonderful leading actress and master of her skills, regardless of what the rules are in this festival.
"It was not a supporting character. It was absolutely beautiful, beautiful performance for a lead actress."
