RONNIE LIANG ON MASTER'S AND DOCTORAL DEGREES FROM PCU

Walk-in enrollee lang.

"About the requirements for master’s degree, nag-submit ako ng Transcript of Record (TOR) of my college degree and diploma plus NBI Clearance then enrollment fees.

“For PhD, since may mga data na ako sa kanila, yun na rin ang kukunin and for you to be enrolled sa PhD, you must have a master’s degree.

"I started my master’s degree during COVID-19 lockdown and my PhD after I graduated and finished my master’s degree.

"I started my dissertation on the very first day after enrollment because I knew it would be challenging, it will take a long time and be difficult to complete. It requires a lot of time and effort,” ang paliwanag ni Ronnie tungkol sa proseso na pinagdaanan niya para makuha ang post-graduate degrees sa PCU.

RONNIE LIANG ON PCU's celebrity graduates this 2026

"On the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) Republic Act 121204, known as the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), is a legitimate academic pathway offered by many universities nationwide, including Philippine Christian University (PCU).

"It provides opportunities for Filipinos—often professionals in demanding careers such as entertainment, public service, or other sectors—who were unable to complete their college education in the traditional manner.

"For graduate-level studies, PCU offers blended Master’s and PhD programs that combine virtual lectures with face-to-face sessions.

“These programs include modular classes, assignments, examinations, and the defense of theses or dissertations. It is important to emphasize that academic freedom is constitutionally guaranteed in the Philippines (Article XIV, Section 5.2 of the 1987 Constitution).

"This ensures that institutions of higher learning, such as PCU, have full autonomy in determining who may teach, what may be taught, how it is taught, and who may be admitted. This principle safeguards the integrity and independence of academic programs nationwide.

"On unfounded accusations against celebrity graduates, we respect differing opinions. However, if one accuses us of never attending classes, never taking exams, never submitting assignments, or never completing and defending a thesis or dissertation, such claims must be backed by proof.

“Without evidence, these are nothing more than unfounded accusations, hearsay, or attempts to discredit.

"Celebrities, like any other students, have the right to dream, to study, and to finish their education. Our profession does not strip us of that right.

“We worked hard, complied with requirements, and earned our credentials. To dismiss our efforts as mere privilege is unfair and diminishes the sacrifices we made.

"If someone claims they enrolled in the same program but did not comply with requirements and still graduated, then that individual must come forward.

“Their experience does not invalidate ours. We fulfilled the academic demands placed upon us.

"On visibility and transparency, some question why they never saw us post about attending classes, exams, or thesis defenses.

"The truth is, not everything needs to be publicized. Privacy in academic pursuits is a choice, not an admission of guilt.

“For those who remain doubtful, PCU’s hotline and address are publicly available. You are welcome to verify directly with the institution, and we are willing to face inquiries alongside PCU administrators, professors, and CHED representatives.”
