Sina Gerald Anderson at Lance Carr ang dalawa sa mga aktor na naapektuhan sa nangyari kay Rene Clert Baterbonia dahil nakilala nila nang personal at nakalaro sa basketball ang Ateneo de Manila University student athlete na nasawi noong Hunyo 8, 2026.

Sa ipinost na interview kay Gerald ng Jeff Oli Gar TV , ikinuwento ng aktor na nakalaro niya si Rene sa Davao.

Napakalaki raw sana ang potensiyal ng Ateneo Blue Eagles rookie na magkaroon ng malaking pangalan sa basketball.

"Tragic talaga yun," ani Gerald tungkol sa sinapit ni Rene.

“Iyang batang iyan, kalaro ko siya two months ago pa. He had a very bright future. Tragedy talaga.

"Nakakadurog ng puso, especially for someone in the basketball world, tapos nakita mo yung potential ng bata."

Sa maikling encounter na yun ay nakita niyang "maayos, mabait" si Rene.

"Parang last message niya dun sa coach niya, hindi muna siya uuwi dahil gusto sana niyang kumita ng malaking pera dito sa Maynila, di ba, para masuportahan niya yung pamilya niya.

GERALD ANDERSON VISITS WAKE

Pumunta si Gerald sa Davao kahapon, June 13, para personal na makiramay sa naulilang pamilya ni Rene, na nakaburol sa Christ the King Chapel ng Ateneo de Davao University.

Nakilala niya ang ina ni Rene na si Rovelyn.

LANCE CARR REMEMBERS RENE

Si Lance naman ay alumnus ng Ateneo de Davao University, kung saan tinapos niya ang kursong Bachelor of Arts in Communication, cum laude.

Gaya ni Gerald, nabigyan ng pagkakataon si Lance na makalaro si Rene sa basketball kaya nanlumo siya nang malamang namatay ito dahil nalunod sa Dipaculao, Aurora.

Ibinahagi ni Lance sa pamamagitan ng Instagram post ang black-and-white photo nila ni Rene habang nasa basketball court.

Ang mensahe niya para sa schoolmate: “Blessed to have shared the court with you. The Ateneo de Davao community is incredibly proud of the legacy and glory you brought to our school and to the entire Davao Region.
