Naiyak ang mommy ni Ysabel Ortega na si Michelle Ortega, pati ang stepfather niyang si dating PDEA Director General Greg Pimentel, pagkatapos nilang mapanood ang pilot week ng bagong feel-good series ng GMA-7 na What We Could Be.
Dumalo sila sa advance screening ng What We Could Be na ginanap sa Trinoma noong July 25, 2022.
Sa pilot week nito ay naka-focus kay Ysabel ang kuwento, na maayos niyang nagampanan.

Kuwento ni Ysabel sa PEP Troika nung nakaraang mediacon ng naturang teleserye, “My mom, sobrang happy siya for me. Kasi, of course, after everyone, you know, my mom has been my best friend. Siya ang nakakaalam ng passion ko, yung journey ko sa craft ko na ito.
“I guess, her seeing my scenes and, you know, finally watching with… we’ve been working hard for the past few months, sobrang natuwa siya.
“Not just her, but my dad as well. Sabi nga nila, nagpapasahan pa sila ng panyo sa cinema, which nagulat ak, because my dad doesn’t usually cry at the movies.
“It was really nice to know that they’re proud of me. Talagang natutuwa ako na nandiyan sila for me all the time. And yeah… they’re just very happy.”
"Daddy" ang tawag ni Ysabel sa kanyang stepfather na si Gen. Pimentel. Ang kanyang biological father ay ang action star at senador na si Lito Lapid.
Sa August 29 na magsisimula ang What We Could Be pagkatapos ng Lolong. Dito masusubukan kung tatangkilikin ng mga manonood ang love team nina Miguel Tanfelix at Ysabel.
Ka-love triangle nila rito si Yasser Mata, at pawang magagaling ang sumusuporta sa kanila rito na sina Celeste Legaspi, Joyce Ann Burton, Joel Saracho, Soliman Cruz, Aleck Bovick, Bimbo Bautista, EJ Jallorina, at Art Acuña.
Kasama rin sa cast ang Sparkle talents na sina Vince Crisostomo, Pam Prinster, Hailey Mendes, at Lia Salvador.
Sabi ni Direk Jeffrey Jeturian, wala siyang kahirap-hirap sa mga artista niya lalo na sa lead actors niyang pawang Kapuso artists.
“Na-surprise ako kasi sumabay yung mga actors ng GMA sa mga beteranong artista, especially si Ysabel.
“Ysabel, Miguel, and Yasser, they are very young but they are very mature, and they are sensitive ang intelligent actors.
“Thankful ako dun dahil pinadali nila ang trabaho ko. Puwede nga akong magdirek na nakahiga lang at natutulog, e,” pahayag ni Direk Jeffrey.
JERRY OLEA
Hindi itinatanggi ni Ysabel na may pressure din sa kanya itong pagsisimula ng What We Could Be, dahil siya talaga ang nagdala ng pilot week nito.
“For me of, course, there was pressure. But at the same time, it wasn’t just me who is part of the pilot. It was, of course, Ms. Celeste, Ms. Joyce, and my whole family.
“It wasn’t just me who really you know, made this series come to life. It was all of us. I feel like it was our camaraderie. It was our chemistry, and sina Ms. Aleck, grabe rin yung chemistry namin as a family.
“Sobrang grateful ako, kasi unang scene pa lang, nag-click na kami as a family. Yung ensemble namin.
"Sobrang saya lang na nakatrabaho sila. Kasi, sobrang gaan and talagang feeling ko we made the most of our scenes.
“Yeah, there is pressure, but I know na because of how talented are my co-actors are as well, and how grateful I am na nakaeksena ko sila, I think that will make the viewers fall in love with our scenes.”

Suwerte ngang masasabi para sa What We Could Be kung totoo ngang mailalagay sila sa prime time.
Teka, anong timeslot ang papalitan nila? Hindi ba’t ang Start Up ay pam-primetime din? Paano na yun?
Oh well, GMA will have a good problem of choosing a better project for the primetime slot. Ibig sabihin, marami silang nasa baul nila na puwedeng isabak sa primetime salpukan.
Ang galing ding hudyat ito na ibinubukas ng GMA-7 ang primetime slots nila sa mga hindi in-house productions. Ibig sabihin, may tiwala rin sila sa mga independent producers who can come up with breakthrough concepts and world class executives.
