Isang linggo bago magpayanig sa local cinemas ang Avatar: The Way of Water, pitong pelikula ang labu-labo umpisa ngayong Disyembre 7, 2022, Miyerkules, sa mga sinehan.
Ang mga ito ay ang Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Plan 75, KKN in Dancer Village, A Mermaid for Christmas, Miracle in Cell No. 7, Call Me Papi, at Ang Kwento ni Makoy.
PUSS IN BOOTS
Ang animated adventure comedy film na Puss in Boots: The Last Wish ay pagpapatuloy ng journey ni Puss in Boots (boses ni Antonio Banderas).
Love interest pa rin dito ni Puss ang Tuxedo cat na si Kitty Softpaws (boses ni Salma Hayek). Kalaban dito ni Puss sina Goldilocks (Florence Pugh), “Big” Jack Horner (John Mulaney), at Big Bad Wolf (Wagner Moura).
Bahagi rin ng istorya sina Mama Bear (Olivia Colman), Papa Bear (Ray Winstone), Baby Bear (Samson Kayo), at Pinocchio (Cody Cameron).
Sa Disyembre 21 pa ang playdate nito sa U.S. Two weeks tayong mauuna na makapanood nito!
PLAN 75
Ang Japanese drama film na Plan 75 ay kalahok sa Asian Next Wave section ng katatapos na 10th QCinema International Film Festival.
Nakamit nito sa QCinema ang sole acting honor na Best Lead Performance (Chieko Baisho), maging ang best production design (Setsuko Shiokawa).
The Artistic Contribution was awarded to Shiokawa for the film’s controlled yet engaging design of an imagined near future where life or death becomes a choice and existence is diminished to muted tones of sadness and resignation. It is also cited for its intelligent re-creation of dystopia that is pegged on reality and never bordering the fantastic.
Kasama sa cast ng Plan 75 ang Pinay na si Stefanie Arianne.
Ang local distributor ng Plan 75 ay ang TBA Studios, na siya ring nag-release sa bansa ng Triangle of Sadness.
KKN IN DANCER VILLAGE
Ayon sa poster na nasa Facebook page ng Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), ang KKN in Dancer Village (KKN Di Desa Penari) ang highest-grossing Indonesian horror film ng 2022.
Tampok sa cast nito sina Tissa Biani, Adinda Thomas, Achmad Megantara, Aghniny Haque, Calvin Jeremy, at M Fajar Nugraha.
MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7
2022 Indonesian version ng A Miracle in Cell No. 7 ang showing ngayon sa local theaters.

Bida naman si Buboy Villar sa Ang Kwento ni Makoy bilang nars na mapagmalasakit sa kapwa sa panahon ng Covid-19 pandemic. Parehong tinalakay ng Ang Kwento ni Makoy at Broken Blooms ang mga kaganapan sa pandemya.
Parehong nakakalungkot ang mga kuwento nito tungkol sa kahirapan ng buhay.

Nakakakaba ang box-office results ng mga pelikulang palabas umpisa today dahil kita naman ninyo, mahigpit ang kapit ng mga tao sa pera nila ngayon.
At naobserbahan din natin na ang tindi na ng traffic ngayon, at marami nang ganap ang bawat isa kaugnay ng Pasko. Pero sana maghimala pa rin at manood ang mga tao ng magagandang sine.

Noong Nobyembre 9 nag-umpisa ang showing ng Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sa local cinemas at hanggang ngayon ay showing pa rin ito.
Four consecutive weekends itong nanguna sa takilya ng North America. Ang worldwide gross nito ay umabot na ng $734M.
Sa mga pelikulang ipinalabas this year, pang-anim na ang Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sa pinakamalaki ang global gross so far.
Siyempre pa, inaasahan nating magpapayanig sa takilya ang Avatar: The Way of Water umpisa next week. Ito ang sequel ng Avatar (2009), ang pinakamalakas na pelikula sa kasaysayan (hindi adjusted sa inflation).
Ang worldwide gross ng Avatar ay $2.923B. Sa tingin ninyo, mapapantayan ba ito o malalampasan ng Avatar: The Way Of Water?

Ayon sa direktor ng Ang Kwento ni Makoy na si HJCP, “I’m not really a political person. But during that time, my team is arguing with me about the name Makoy.
“I have a friend, e, na ang pangalan, Makoy. Naaasar-asar din siya. Actually, what I want to address in the story is the presumption…
“Kaya nga ganun yung karakter ni Makoy na pini-presume na kaagad na mahina siyang nars. Minamaliit siya kaagad.
“During that time, I’m not really very political. Although they’re running, I’m not really concerned, at least concerning my work.
“So, yun lang naman kaya na-address ko siya na Makoy, because I have a friend na Makoy din ang pangalan and Inwant to be playful with that.”
