Suportado ng Kapuso stars ang premiere night ng Voltes V: Legacy na ginanap sa SM The Block nung Martes, April 18, 2023.

Hindi napigilang maging emotional ang direktor ng Voltes V: Legacy na si Mark Reyes dahil nabuo nila ang malaking proyektong ito sa gitna ng napakaraming challenges na hinarap nila. At suportado ng GMA-7 kahit napalaki nang husto ang budget.

Sabi nga ni Ms. Helen Rose Sese, Senior Program Manager at AVP for Drama, nandiyan ang suporta ng GMA-7 sa production ng GMA-7, kahit ang dami na nilang napagdaanan sa taping, at nasubukan pa nilang ma-lock-in nung kasagsagan ng COVID-19.
Halos 200 ang involved sa production, at ang dami pang nasa cast. Nagkaproblema pa sila sa child actor na si Raphael Landicho, na hindi puwedeng magtrabaho nung panahong iyon dahil minor. Nakatatlong palit na raw sila ng costume ng bata dahil lumaki na ito.
“We’re very thankful for the support of the network, at binigay yun sa atin sa project na to to come up with such good project,” bahagi ng pahayag ni Ms. Helen.
Ipinagmamalaki nilang 100 percent Filipino made ito mula sa costumes na suot ng mga nagsipagganap hanggang sa visual effects.
“Madami nagsasabing gusto nating mag-improve. So eto na, ito yung pruweba na ginastusan to, pinag-isipan, pinagtrabahuan, pinaghirapan. Eto na po.
“So that’s why, you cannot tell us not to do it. Kasi may mga usapan, 'Bakit niyo pa ginawa yan?' No! Kailangan nating gawin. If not us, who?” saad ni Direk Mark.
“Thank you again to GMA and Telesuccess, and TOEI Company that they approved this project. This is the stepping stone. It opens the gate for everyone. For all the artists, for GMA videographics, for Riot.
“You know, to see the level na kaya pala ng Philippines ang level ng ganitong artistry sa CGI or when it comes to the costume. You saw naman the flysuits, no? Hindi naman tinipid,” pagmamalaki pa ni Direk Mark.
Ang isang kamangha-mangha sa cinematic experience ng Voltes V ay ang volt-in ng limang pangunahing karakter dito na sina Steve Armstrong (Miguel Tanfelix), Jamie Robinson (Ysabel Ortega), Mark Gordon (Radson Flores), Big Bert Armstrong (Matt Lozano), at si Little Jon Armstrong (Raphael Landicho).
Nakakapanindig-balahibo at masasabi mong kaya naman pala ng Pinoy.
Ilan pa na tampok din sa Voltes V: Legacy na may mahalagang ginagampanan para mabuo ang kuwento ay sina Dennis Trillo, Carla Abellana, Albert Martinez, Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Liezel Lopez, at Martin del Rosario.

Sa mediacon ng Voltes V: Legacy ay tinanong si Direk Mark kung paano maa-appreciate ng mga kabataan ang Voltes V, lalo na’t wala pa sila nung sumikat ang animé series na ito.
“The challenge was, it was an old animé, antiquated you know, we call it that. Pero, ever since… since 1978 here in the Philippines, all the way down to 2023, Voltes V has always been in the heart of the Filipinos.
“Aminin natin yan, hindi nawawala sa karaoke yung pagkanta ng Voltes theme saka yung 'My Father,' yung sa ending theme song. Mga political ads, mga commercials, Voltes V has always been around.
“I don’t know, there was a certain magic perhaps with the Voltes V that it has endured all these years, all these decades.
“Pero inherently, Voltes V is a story of family. In so many levels yung istorya. Kaya siguro it was easy for GMA to approve the project because they saw na okay. It was worth of soap opera I saw as a child.
“Because when you know the whole story… you know… the betrayal of the brothers, the loss of the mother, the loss of the father, it’s soap opera. It’s a space soap opera.
“It came from Japan, but it was very near to the heart of the Filipinos. Kasi yun ang gusto natin e. Yung nagtutulungan, yung magkakapatid, yung mga magkaaway sina Mark at si Steve. Tapos, magsasanib-puwersa, tapos yung kalaban mo, hindi mo alam, kalahi mo, kadugo mo,” lahad ni Direk Mark.
Nilinaw rin ni Direk Mark na ang mapapanood sa mga sinehan na Voltes V: Legacy ay hindi pa kabuuan ng series na ito. Pero maganda ring mapanood ito sa widescreen.
“We… GMA decided ‘panoorin niyo ‘to, kung gusto niyo. 'Hindi namin sinasabi na pinipilit namin kayo, pero iba yung experience ng cinema na it’s surround sound.
“You see it on the big screen. You see Voltes V in a very big scale, not just watching it on television. You have a choice. So, you’re lucky that you will be able to see what it's all about.
“You know the cinema experience is just two hours of the 80 episodes that you will see on television.
“So, huwag niyong i-expect na, ‘Ay! Pag napanood na namin sa cinema, hindi na kami manonood sa TV.’ Ang dami pa! Ang dami niyo pang papanoorin. Ang dami pang revelations… out of 16 beast fighters, dalawa lang ang makikita nyo sa cinema experience,” saad ni Direk Mark.

May mga nag-akalang magiging game changer ito sa local TV landscape, lalo pa’t inaasahang full blast na ang operation nito matapos ang first quarter ng 2023.
Sa ngayon ay patuloy ang pamamayagpag ng Kapuso Network. Isa lang ang TV program nitong talunan sa ratings, ang Mga Lihim ni Urduja na katapat ng FPJ’s Batang Quiapo ni Coco Martin.
Hindi na mae-extend ang Mga Lihim ni Urduja. Sa susunod na buwan ay papalitan na ito ng pinakamagastos na TV series ng GMA-7 this year, ang Voltes V: Legacy.
Ngayong Abril 19, Miyerkules, ay four consecutive days nang nangunguna sa talaan ng Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today ng Netflix ang Kapuso primetime series na pinalitan ng Mga Lihim ni Urduja, ang Maria Clara at Ibarra.

Kahapon, Abril 18, Martes ay tatlo ang payanig ng mga Kapuso sa City of Stars.
Noong tanghali ang official announcement tungkol sa movie project nina Alden Richards at Julia Montes, ang Five Break-ups And A Romance. Joint venture ito ng GMA Pictures, CS Studios, at ng production company ni Alden na Myriad. Ginanap ang mediacon sa B Hotel, Sct. Rallos St., Quezon City.

Sumunod ang launch ng labinsiyam na Sparkle Teens sa Novotel Hotel, Cubao, Quezon City. Kabilang doon si Josh Ford, na kasama sa aksidenteng ikinasawi ni Andrei Sison na kabilang sana sa ilulunsad na Sparkle Teens. Naalala ko tuloy si Angel Locsin, na nakilala nang lubos matapos pumanaw ang kasintahang si Miko Sotto noong Disyembre 29, 2003.

Ang ang ikatlong pasiklab ng GMA kahapon ay ang premiere screening ng Voltes V: Legacy sa The Block ng SM North EDSA.
Tingnan natin kung pasisiglahin ba ng Voltes V: Legacy ang takilya, at kung patataubin ba nito eventually ang FPJ’s Batang Quiapo sa Game of Ratings.
Ayon sa source ng PEP Troika, tinatayang P2M more or less ang first-gross ng Voltes V: Legacy kahit sa 19 SM cinemas lang ito naipalabas, sa halip na 62 SM cinemas.
