Na-enjoy ko ang pa-Heritage Tour ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) para sa mga taga-media noong Abril 30, 2026, Huwebes.

Marami akong natutunan.

Our Shared Heritage, Our Collective Future.”

Ayon sa Facebook post ng NCAA: "At the heart of this year’s official poster is the banig —a symbol of connection, continuity, and community.

"Just as each strand is carefully woven, our heritage is shaped by the many stories, traditions, and identities that bind us as Filipinos across generations.

"Surrounding it are diverse communities, reminding us that heritage belongs to all of us —lived, practiced, and passed on in everyday life.

"The rising sun speaks of hope, while the vibrant colors reflect the richness and dynamism of our cultural expressions.

"As we celebrate National Heritage Month this May, we are invited not only to look back with pride, but to take part in carrying our heritage forward.

"It is not confined to the past—it is a living legacy, sustained by collective care and shared responsibility."

THE WORKS OF National Artist Leandro V. Locsin

Nagsimula ang heritage tour sa Universidad de Santo Tomas (UST) sa España Boulevard, Manila.

Nasa Beato Angelico Gallery ang exhibit na The Poet of Concrete: The Architecture of National Artist Leandro V. Locsin.

It was originally mounted in 2024 at the De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde (DLSU-CSB), and curated by Architect Gerry Torres.

Kabilang sa napakaraming obra ni Locsin ang Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Church of the Holy Sacrifice sa UP Diliman, at ang Istana Nurul Iman, na official residence ng Sultan of Brunei.

NOOD KA MUNA!

Gawa rin niya ang National Arts Center, kung saan naroon ang Philippine High School for the Arts, sa Mt. Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna.

Napag-alaman ko sa exhibit na ang mga dinemolish na obra ni Locsin ay Greenbelt 1, BDO Corporate Tower, Intercontinental Hotel, Magnolia Plant & Offices, Mandarin Hotel, Benguet Center Building, Ayala Museum, at Philippine Center for International Trades and Exhibition.

Ang mga likha ni Locsin na “endangered” ay Folk Arts Theater (Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas), PLDT Building sa Makati City, at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila sa Pasay City.

National Cultural Treasures

Iyong APEC Sculpture Garden ay nasa left, right, and front lawns.

Kinakatawan ng sculptures sa hardin ang collective ideals ng 20 APEC member economies—Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, China, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, Singapore, Thailand, US, at Vietnam.

Ni-renovate iyon for six months noong Abril-Setyembre 2025.

HOUSE OF CONNECTIONS

May yellow ribbons encased in glass sa exhibit, bilang paggunita sa People Power noong Pebrero 1986.

Of course, naka-exhibit ang memorabilia nina Emilio Aguinaldo, Manuel Roxas, Jose P. Laurel, Sergio Osmeña, Manuel Roxas, Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos P. Garcia, Diosdado Macapagal, at Ferdinand Marcos.

Mas maraming items ang naka-exhibit para kay Corazon Aquino, first female president; Fidel V. Ramos, first Protestant president; Joseph Estrada, first action-star president.

Ganun din kay Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, na anak ni former President Diosdado Macapagal; Benigno Aquino III, na anak ni former President Corazon Aquino; at Rodrigo Duterte.

NATIONAL HERITAGE MONTH 2026's kick-off

  • Mayo 13 at 14 sa Batanes Provincial Library sa Basco, Batanes — Libraries As Living Heritage: Preserving Ivatan Stories and Community Memory

NCCA HERITAGE ACTIVITIES
