Ipapalabas ng Kapitana Entertainment Media ang animated musical na Plump Blossom (85 minutes) sa local cinemas sa Setyembre 23, 2026, kasagsagan ng Mid-Autumn Festival.
Bida sa kuwento ang prinsesang chubby na si Ruo Hoa (boses ni Candice Tan) ng fictitious Huang Dynasty.
Love interest niya si General Jian (boses ni Don Puno).
Ang tagline ng Plump Blossom: "In a world where plump means beauty and prosperity, love finds its way through kindness and food."
Nakatsikahan ng PEP Troika ang writer-director-producer na si Kapitana Rossana Hwang noong Hunyo 30, Martes, sa kanyang mansion sa Dasmariñas Village, Makati City.
Panimula niya: “I’ve been doing princess line for the longest time.
“When I was younger, ganun, may notebooks were princess notebooks. Mga Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast. Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan. Yung mga ganun, including yung mga Barbie.
"Yun ang ginagawa ko dati, Sanrio, yung character merchandise. So I really liked that.
“It’s a story that’s in my brain for the longest time na. Noong 2015 pa."

Ano ang naging inspirasyon niya para gawing prinsesang chubby ang main protagonist ng animated film?
“When I went to Shanxi History Museum in China, they feature all those things they unearthed in the terracotta warriors’ place.
“And a lot of them were figurines from the Tang Dynasty. Aba, nagulat ako!
“Alongside the terracotta warriors, I saw the Tang Dynasty figurines which were matatabang babae, matatabang lalaki.
“The royalty are all mga matataba. Double chins, ganoon.”
Ibang-iba sa mga nakalakihan niyang Disney Princesses!
Sa pagpapatuloy ni Kapitana Rossana: “So ang nangyari diyan, I researched and then I saw yung mga posters and prints. And they were called ‘fat lady.’
“So I thought about, ‘What if there was a fat princess?’ Wala, have you seen anybody featuring that bida, di ba?”
Hindi raw commercially appealing kung tabachingching ang bida?
“Ahh you watch this Plump Blossom, tapos iyong Chinese culture pa, mahilig sa pagkain,” pagmamatwid ni Kapitana Rossana.
“People live to it. Parang their love language is food language. So I wanted to make this movie na ganoon.”
Nasa voice cast din ng Plump Blossom sina Gutch Gutierrez bilang Chef Bao, Chad Williams bilang General Feathers, Yeng Her bilang Yuan Yuan, at Audie Gemora bilang Emperor.
Featured vocalists sina Paulina Yeung (“Wait for Me" at "Under One Moon") at Rafael Sundayan (“Wait for Me" at "Under One Moon").

Ipinagmamalaki ng writer-director-producer na si Rossana Hwang na gawang-Pinoy ang animated film na Plump Blossom, kasehodang English ang dialogues dito at ang setting ay China.
Paliwanag ni Kapitana Rossana: “Plump Blossom is a film inspired by the art, music, traditions, and values of ancient China during the Tang era—one of the world's great civilizations.
“Like films inspired by ancient Greece, Egypt, Japan, or medieval Europe, it tells a timeless story of kindness, courage, friendship, and family.
“As Filipinos, we love stories from many cultures. We enjoy Japanese anime, Korean dramas, Disney fairy tales, and European legends.
"Appreciating another culture does not diminish our love for our own country.
“Plump Blossom is proudly written, produced, directed, and animated by Filipinos.

Si Rossana Hwang ang writer-producer ng fantasy movie na Isang Komedya sa Langit (IKL) na ipinalabas sa mga sinehan noong Mayo 28, 2025.
Bida rito sina Jaime Fabregas, Gene Padilla, at EA Guzman.
Kasama sa cast sina Carmi Martin, John Medina, at Aki Blanco, sa direksiyon ni Roi Paolo Calilong.
“Historical fiction siya about three priests na nag-time travel,” sabi ni Kapitana Rossana.
“I was hoping I could go back to IKL. Ang gusto kong mangyari, if I can change the title again, I will.”
Ang naiisip ni Kapitana na bagong title ng Isang Komedya sa Langit ay Nawawalang Santo.
Na-dishearten ba siya sa na-experience niya sa IKL?
Mabilis na tugon ni Kapitana Rossana, “No. Kasi I still continue selling the movie today. It’s still being shown on schools.”
