Carlos's designation beyond gymnastics

Carlos's move to join the Navy Reserve Force comes at a time when the Philippines is encouraging civic responsibility and national service.

As part of his duties, he will participate in training exercises and assist the regular Navy when needed, especially in times of national crises or emergencies.

Despite these new responsibilities, he remains committed to his gymnastics career, determined to balance his passion for the sport with his role as a reservist.

The Philippine Navy Reserve Force is a voluntary unit composed of civilians who dedicate themselves to supporting the regular Navy.

These reservists undergo training to prepare for a variety of missions, including naval defense, maritime security, disaster response, and relief operations.

Apart from the 24-year-old Olympic athlete, several well-known personalities have taken up similar roles in recent years.

Celebrities like Dingdong Dantes, Nadia Montenegro, Rocco Nacino, Matteo Guidicelli, Michelle Dee, and Beatrice Luigi Gomez, have all volunteered for military service, lending their star power to national causes and inspiring others to follow suit.
