Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup is so looking forward to the unveiling of a new era in Philippine fashion through the FILIPINXT maiden show in Manhattan, New York City on May 5, 2024.
Shamcey in her capacity as Miss Universe Philippines Organization national director is particularly excited to see this collaborative vision of New York-based fashion designer Bessie Besana and restaurateur Rob Mallari-D'Auria finally come to life.
"First of all, I'm very, very proud of FILIPINXT and what they stand for," Shamcey tells Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) during the unveiling on March 12, 2024, at Marriott Manila Hotel.
"It's really to showcase the talents of Filipinos all over the world, and to showcase it in a fashion destination like New York.
"Talagang dati pinapangarap lang ngayon, mangyayari na siya. And I think it only takes one person to actually pave the way.
"And then hopefully marami na rin ang susunod in the future sa yapak ng FILIPINXT."

BEAUTY QUEENS IN FILIPINXT
Shamcey applauds the platform as a venue for pageant alumni to celebrate and help promote local talents in fashion design and the arts.
She says, "Looking at our talents here, our models, many of them are past beauty queens. And the male models are a product of Mister Pilipinas Worldwide.
"Parang, kumbaga, I'm just proud to see all of these men and women who started in pageantry and now going into fashion as well.
"So, alam mo yun, there's really kumbaga, overlapping of worlds. And fashion really is something that can really work together."

SHAMCEY INVESTS IN E-CARS
With her plate already full with fashion and pageant-related activities, Shamcey, a working architect first of all, has other businesses to mind as well.
She shares, "We've always been into businesses, actually. This pageantry and fashion, it's just one of our passions.
"And we have a lot of friends in the industry, so it's really just supporting them.
"But behind all of the glamour na iyan, we have our own businesses in food, in manufacturing, in real estate."
The 37-year-old architect introduces her latest business pursuit with husband Lloyd Lee, saying, "Now, our baby venture is promoting e-mobility in the Philippines.
"So, we are importing electric vehicles. That's our, iyan ang pinaka-latest that we are working on."
When it comes to finances, Shamcey confesses: "Before I got married, I was more on saving money.
"But marrying somebody who has grown in a business setting really taught me na it's better to invest your money than to save it in the bank.
"So, sa kanya ko natutunan na hindi pala enough yung mag-save ka lang.
"You have to find investments that will grow and not be stagnant because may inflation and all. He taught me that.
"That's why right now we're more on investing on businesses or real estate rather than saving money in the bank."
