Actress and celebrity mom Melissa Ricks proudly shared on Instagram an update on her weight-loss journey.
In her post dated July 31, 2024, Melissa showed before-and-after photos showcasing her impressive progress.

In the caption, she revealed she has shed a total of 31 pounds since starting her journey, losing 21 pounds just in the last two months.
Melissa expressed her gratitude to Dr. Roland Angeles, an Internal Medicine specialist with a subspecialty in Obesity Medicine and Medical Weight Loss Treatment, who has been guiding her through her weight loss journey for the past two months.
Melissa wrote, "Without the guidance of Doc @roland_angeles_md and the Angeles Clinic I wouldn't have been able to meet this goal...
"Sabi nga ni Doc, 'Long way to go', but its reachable..."
Melissa also mentioned that she began her weight-loss journey for her own well-being and for her children most of all.
"This is For me, for my kids and for my well-being.:) It takes alot of discipline and guidance, (wag matigas ulo [emoji]) kailangan you have your mind made up na kaya mo.. at KAYA mo naman talaga!"
Recalling her earlier days in showbiz, Melissa reflected, "I started in showbiz i was 100lbs.. I was 14... Its not an attainable and realistic goal anymore... so were setting a possible, and doable goal.. Watch us do it [emoji]."
MELISSA RICKS: WEIGHT-LOSS JOURNEY
For Melissa, she reached a turning point earlier this year that forced her to take a hard look at her lifestyle.
In an Instagram post, Melissa disclosed weighing 219 pounds when she embarked on her weight-loss journey.
While her motive was to shed the extra pounds, the underlying reasons were much more profound.
Melissa wrote in her caption, "TIRED. Thats what I felt. Always tired. My Back hurt, my knees hurt, and Lagi mainit ulo. I just want to feel like my self again.
"I want to be healthy for my kids, but somehow I just cant, I keep gaining it back. Specially having my second child im at my BIGGEST.
"The lack of motivation since being lazy and stressed."
Determined to break free from this cycle, Melissa started sought the help of experts, to guide her with her weight loss journey.
She continued, "I decided to see Doc @roland_angeles_md again, A doctor that specializes in Obesity Medicine and Medical Weight Loss.
"The BEST out there! (thanks @therealaramina for encouraging me again) hehe With Doc Angeles I lost -10lbs in less than 3 weeks.
"I feel significantly better and I think my skin does too!!
"Long journey ahead, but its definitely an encouraging one since I can see results and quick! Bawas Hingal na! [emoji] Its takes alot of dedication and perseverance pero KAYA!"
According to her Instagram updates, Melissa also has been doing home workouts—mainly cardio exercises and basic weightlifting with the help of workout machines.
In an Instagram Reel, she talked about her diet, pointing out her sweet tooth as her biggest challenge.
However, she has overcome her sweet and soda cravings with the help of sugar-free keto drinks.
Following her latest weight loss update, Melissa's friends expressed their joy and pride in her accomplishments.
