For Pia Wurtzbach, the idea of winning has stretched far beyond the moment that defined her global career.

More than a decade after being crowned Miss Universe 2015, she continues to move in spaces that celebrate success, but her reflections now lean toward a more personal definition of achievement.

At an event held on May 14, 2026, at IKEA Pasay City, Pia spoke about how her definition of success has evolved since her pageant win.

While she acknowledged the weight of that winning moment, she revealed that life afterward has been shaped by quieter milestones.

Pia said: “It’s not always the big moments. It’s not always big moments on stage, a big audience, a title, a crown. Nowadays, I also find my winning moments in quiet, more introspective moments.”

Her statement reframed success in terms of daily life rather than public recognition.

Instead of focusing on a singular peak moment, she described a life made up of smaller experiences that carry their own sense of fulfillment.

That shift is reflected in how she now speaks about her work and personal priorities.

Pia continues to stay active in fashion and media, but, “I'm also keeping it balanced by spending more time with family.”

HOME AS A PERSONAL MILESTONE

A central part of Pia’s reflection during the IKEA event was her first home, which she bought in 2022, but it still is a work in progress.

The process of building and shaping it has become part of her current life chapter, one that sits outside the spotlight of her earlier career.

Pia said: “I've actually built my first house, my first home, and I'm still, you know, in the process of fixing it up and rebuilding it.”

In another part of her answer, she described how these moments have taken on more meaning than external recognition.

Pia said, “Those moments actually feel like winning moments too, because then you enjoy your hard work.”

The store was named IKEA Store of the Year 2025, a recognition given to only a small number of IKEA locations worldwide.

On May 14, 2026, a Hall of Fame celebration was held at its Swedish Restaurant.

It had a Champion’s Walk and a gallery highlighting notable Filipinos who represent excellence in different fields.

Aside from Pia Wurtzbach, Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz and chef Josh Boutwood were also present.

Store Manager Daniel Rivero described the award as a defining moment for the team.

"This is an incredible achievement for the team in the Philippines. Their passion, commitment, and togetherness truly shine through. The recognition is both affirming and emotionally rewarding for us all," he said.
