TV host Bianca Gonzalez sparked discussion online after urging media platforms to be more mindful when featuring celebrities’ luxury purchases.
On April 6, 2026, Bianca took to X (formerly Twitter) to single out the mention of their prices.
“Sa mga media platforms featuring luxury items ng mga celebs, wag na muna sanang isama sa feature yung presyo ng mga ito,” she wrote.
She acknowledged that celebrities likely worked hard and saved up for such purchases, but pointed out that the current social and economic climate calls for greater sensitivity.
“Malamang ay pinag-ipunan nila ito, oo, pero sa ekonomiyang ito, sa taas ng presyo ng gas at bilihin, sa nangyayari sa mundo, sa hirap na pinagdadaanan ng mga kababayan natin, hindi ito ang panahon para detalyehin pa at ibida ang mga ganitong bagay.
“Hindi naaayon,” she added.

NETIZENS REACT TO BIANCA’S POST
Her post quickly gained traction, with many netizens echoing her sentiments.
Some users agreed that public figures, not just media outlets, should exercise restraint, especially given the financial struggles faced by many Filipinos today.
“I think celebrities should also be more mindful of what they put out there. Public figures sila eh… there should be some restraint in flexing or showcasing a lavish lifestyle, especially considering the current economic situation,” one user commented.
Another replied: “Kung negosyo nila yung luxury items at nagmamarket lang online, go. Pero kung feature feature lang sa socmed at nakapublic na pati presyo forda ‘inspire’ video, parang off na off nga ata sa panahon ngayon.”
There were also comments extending the call for sensitivity beyond celebrities.
“This is not the time to brag those items, lalo na sa mga pulitiko, mahiya kayo sa kababayan nyo,” another netizen said, referencing the struggles of minimum wage earners.
However, not everyone agreed with Bianca’s stance.
One dissenting comment argued that individuals have the right to showcase what they have worked for.
“Pakialam mo naman? Pinaghirapan at pinag-ipunan naman nila ‘yan. Kung ipagmalaki nila ang pinaghirapan nila, karapatan nila ‘yun,” the user wrote, adding that those who feel uncomfortable should simply disengage.
“Kung hindi naaayon sa’yo, or hindi ka comfortable, seek professional help or talk to a psychologist about it.”
Bianca’s post highlighted an ongoing conversation about the balance between personal expression, media responsibility, and public sensitivity—especially during challenging economic times.
