Ruffa Gutierrez has given notice to the future husbands of daughters Lorin, 17, and Venice, 16.
The celebrity mom said, "Kapag sinira nila ang buhay ng anak ko o iyong puso ng anak ko, lagot sila.
"Hindi lang sa akin, sa tatay nila, pero sa buong pamilya namin. So, kailangan, ingat sila. Iyon lang iyon."
She firmly underlined, "Dapat mahalin niyo si Lorin o si Venice. Ang message ko dapat maging seryoso sila sa anak ko."
Ruffa spoke with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and the press via Zoom conference last October 14 for the upcoming digital series, The House Arrest of Us.
Courtship requirments
In another interview with PEP.ph last September 2017, Ruffa laid down the rules on how Lorin and Venice's suitors should woo her.
In her book, the courtship most certainly must be "traditional."
Ruffa quipped, "Ako ligawan nila. So please, the boys, you better send me flowers, chocolates, perfumes."
She added, "Kailangan matalino sila," and more importantly, "Kailangan pumunta pa rin sila sa bahay!"
"Don't focus on guys"
According to Ruffa, she wants to prepare Lorin and Venice for that phase in their lives when suitors would come calling.
She told PEP.ph in an interview in January 2020, "I told Lorin and Venice, your first love normally won't be your last love even if you want it to be. It doesn't happen.
"Twenty years from now, after you have gotten over your first love, pagtatawanan mo na lang iyan. 'Ginawa ko yun?!?' or 'Ewww, nagustuhan ko siya?' Ganoon lang...
"I tell them that the world is big. Don't focus on guys. Darating din iyan."
Right now, the celebrity mom wants her daughters to focus on their studies first and "achieve their dreams."
Lorin and Venice are Ruffa's daughters with former husband Yilmaz Bektaz.
Ruffa and Yilmaz got married in 2003, but things fell apart and they went their separate ways in 2007.
Their annulment was granted in 2012.
