Sheree Vidal Bautista, professionally known as Sheree, couldn't be happier with how her son has grown.
Talking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on April 16, 2024, to promote her upcoming concert L ‘Art De Sheree, Sheree emphasizes the importance of communication in making her son understand her work.

EXPLAINING HER CHOSEN CAREER
The show—happening on May 24, 2024 at the Music Museum in Greenhills—is a burlesque-themed spectacle that celebrates Sheree's talents in singing and pole dancing.
Aside from being the show headliner, she is also in charge of the production side.
One of her reasons? To meet her son's request.
Sheree relates, "I have a 15-year-old son, which is, nagreklamo na nga siya sa akin na wag na daw akong masyadong magpa-sexy, ay, yung dating ginagawa ko.
"So, eto na nga. Kaya nagpo-produce na ako ng mga show."
It turns out that Sheree's son with former partner Gian Magdangal made the request after an unforgettable encounter in school.
The Viva Hot Babes member recalls, "Alam mo, ano yun, nagpunta ako sa school ni Haley.
"Tapos, may kapatid ng classmate niya na sinabi na napanood daw yung mga movies ko. Idol daw niya ako.
"Tapos tinanong niya, what movies? Parang nag-ano ako," Sheree gestures being caught off guard.
"Sabi niya, ‘Why do you keep a secret from me?’
"Sabi ko, ‘No, I'm not. I just don't want you to see the kind of movies that I do."
Without delving into specifics, she remembers trying to reassure her son: "But, those movies brought you to [name of school].
"Your tuition fee is very expensive. I have to do that or else, nga nga.
"So, ganon, ini-explain ko sa kanya."
In the early 2000s, Viva Hot Babes epitomized the era of sexy stars starring in steamy and provocative films.
For this reason, Sheree fully validates her sons perspective: "Sinabi niya na talaga sa akin, which is totally understandable, na I have to stop it.
"Kasi he's growing up rin. Alam naman natin na mga 15 years old, medyo nag-i-explore na iyan ng mga bagay-bagay.
"So, I totally understand where he's coming from, pero ini-explain ko nang maayos why I did that."
Along the same lines, the 44-year-old celebrity mom only wishes that her son will be spared from any bullying that might take place owing to her career history.
"Sana naman di siya na-bully, di ba? So, before that happens, I have to, ano na, parang think of what's better for him also," she discloses.

SHEREE ON RAISING A TEENAGER
As a mother to a teenager, Sheree acknowledges the complexity of parenting young adolescents, including having to deal with her son's physical, emotional, and mental transformations brought on by puberty.
Nonetheless, she finds incomparable fulfillment in filling the role, stating, "Naku, mahirap but very rewarding.
"Saka yung anak ko is very good. He's a very good son."
Speaking with pride, she explains, "Ano siya, he follows talaga mga advice, ganon, nakikinig siya.
"He studies really well. He's got good grades. Wala akong hihingiin pa. I have the best son."
Sheree adds, "Kumakanta pa, very talented. So, I'm very happy na ganon yung anak ko."
SHEREE'S PARENTING STYLE
Disciplinary measures come in a range of forms including verbal discipline, which Sheree actively applies while raising her son.
"Well, ako, ang problema sa akin, ma-spoil na nang-i-spoil ako. Yun ang problema sa akin," she admits.
"Pero dinidisiplina ko. Siyempre, bago ko ibigay, ini-explain ko na, ‘Okay, I'm giving this to you because you're a good kid. Ganyan."
She continues: "Pagka naman nagkakamali siya, binibigyan ko din siya ng lesson pero never akong namamalo. Never physical."
Sheree affirms that the way she passes on lessons to her child is by communicating with affection.
"I always communicate with love," she says.
"I always discipline with love, not with pain. Oo, so yun, ganon ako as a mom."

CO-PARENTING WITH GIAN MAGDANGAL
Meanwhile, Sheree appreciates Gian and his current partner Lara Maigue's contributions to her son's upbringing.
"Me and Gian are really good friends, and I love Lara. I love both of them, sana sila na talagang magkatuluyan," she mentions.
"Kasi parang ano, gusto ko yung tandem nila na they're both singers.
"And then parang ano, I'm just happy that our relationship is like this. We're friends talaga."
Co-parenting has even helped them become each other's trusted confidant.
Sheree cites, "Sometimes, I share my secrets with them. Alam mo yun yung nakakapagbuga ako ng mga problema ko sa kanila.
"They are really good people. Gian naman is a good dad naman...so wala. We're happy.
"Walang problema kasi I want peace."
